The Organic Precision Fires-Light (OPF-L) Program

$40,000 an operator, unit, hopefully it offers better tactical advantage?

155mm 500-2000/shot
Himars 100,000 and up better targeting snd range.

Any WW1 Vets would have loved these things to disrupt the trench warfare

Remember only realistically need 1-2 per squad. 40000 grand to take out a fortified mortar or belt fed weapon.
It seems very cost efficient especially if it can be done consistently.

A m-240 SAW 6500
60 mm mortar 6000
120 mm mortar with digital aiming systems 200000
A 50 cal M82 or m107 sniper rifle 8000-12000
The marine corps Elbit NVG system is estimated to cost 17000 a unit.

So 40grand for beyond line of site recon and attack system seems cheep.
Estimated cost to train up a marine corps grunt to a corporals proficiency 100000.

Here’s the thing with the US and our professional military. We value the lives of every soldier. Both from a human altruistic ambition. To the practical cost effective combination of individual ability, training, and technology replacement cost. Verses sending untrained meat bags to charge an emplacement with a 50/50 chance of death.
Do more with less actual means do more with less warfighters
We can afford it at least for now.
Meat grinders should always be lopsided

Here is an interview with Palmer Luckey, the founder of Anduril, by Joe Rogen. Anduril has some amazing military tech.
