Indeed. The world thought Obama would undertake a peaceful and friendly foreign policy as well. The world was in fact so fooled, that Obama received a Nobel Peace Prize shortly after entering office, before actually doing anything. Of course, his campaign rhetoric turned out to be in fact rhetoric, like his predecessors. Turned out Obama had been receiving immense campaign donations from the medical insurance industry, and instead of providing national healthcare comparable to UK's NHS, America simply made it illegal to not purchase premium health insurance, subsidized the heath insurance industry, while the insurance industry raised rates because they no longer had to compete with the option of not purchasing insurance at all. The health insurance industry saw enormous profits as a result, predictably. Obama said he'd close Guantanamo, and that didn't happen. He said he'd immediately bring all the troops home, and that didn't happen. He suggested he'd be a peaceful diplomat, but has launched new military campaigns and covert interventions across the world - Pakistan, Syria, Libya, Yemen, and so forth.
There's a joke in this, but the joke's on the public.
