U.S. - Canada Relations

BREAKING: The Financial Times reports that Peter Navarro, senior advisor to President Trump, is working to expel Canada from the "Five Eyes" intelligence alliance (U.S., UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada).

There's a dust-up between Canada and India, but I can't find anything about expelling Canada from the Five Eyes intelligence alliance.

Pressure on Canada to gain from distance from Chinnes money.

We have watched and seen the Real actual incidents of Chinese intelligence and activities of espionage in the US for Decades. Documented back to the Clinton administration and likely before.

We all know the reported doctrine of unrestricted warfare alluded to in China.
Yet over and over again fall asleep and ignore this threat.
Navarro is very suspicious of China, to think he is putting pressure anywhere he can to counter Chinese inroads is completely plausible and likely worth listening to.

Never gonna happen. We would then be “Four Eyes”
Really!
It will depend on the economic war that Trump wants to wage on us, If he carries out his threats (Tariff at 25%), why would we give
information to the USA that wants to destroy us economically
and annex us. Canada is getting closer to China because your beloved president is worse than China. So, it is Canada that will leave you. Your current government no longer has the same ideology as us Canadians, and probably as the rest of the West.

The likelihood of a US armed invasion of Canada (mirroring the Russian invasion of Ukraine) is steadily increasing. Before this becomes an imminent reality, the US must first complete its transformation into a dictatorial regime. An efficient domestic terror apparatus is required to quash internal dissent within the US, enable unrestricted reallocation of resources to the military, wage an effective war of conquest, subjugate the conquered populace, and exterminate any resistance. An invasion of Greenland is also likely to occur as a trial run before the big showdown.

It is somewhat possible that the political entity known as the United States of America will not survive such a metamorphosis, and will instead destroy itself in a civil war (which would be the preferable scenario from Canada's PoV). Nevertheless, the trajectory the American society has embarked on is unmistakable, and Canada would do well to establish security dialogue with China posthaste.

You know what I hear in this petulant railing of Trump this, dictator that is a perspective of individuals who are unhappy something new is being tried.

A lot of hyperbolic fear porn most recently the US is going to invade Canada.
Justifying with a graffiti reference from a dead empire. I would point out the bit of graffiti wasn’t sprayed on by a savant or political futurist. It was done by someone who had lived in generational learned oppression.
So that it has some less for Americans today it kinda premature in its prognostics.
It’s like co-opting the lyrics of a old song to newer unrelated event.

Some are mad there teams out of the club house
Some throw around wild conspiracy of US is going to invaded Canada or try and invade and land grab northern Mexico.

I was most humored that Neil Young the man who wrote the protest song “Ohio”.
Will be playing a benefit concert in Ukraine for solidarity.
Oh the absolute fucking irony of that.
I’ve got friends who are actual 60’s anti war hippies who run banners slava Ukrania.

that’s when you know it’s not about policy it’s just about if your political animal is on top.
Like a mob moving down the street it’s followed and aped mindlessly repeating syllables strung together in rhythmic cadences

No hyperbole. I meant every word literally.
Canada has now become your country's Lebensraum. That doesn't mean an invasion by US forces is imminent or inevitable. But it is growing more likely, and it is no longer something Canadian authorities can, or should, dismiss out of hand.

Based on one election cycle on one administration.
Americans have no desire to invaded assimilate or take responsibility for. We just want a neighbor who’s a good neighbor, which almost to a fault Canada is. For the US to seek and expect assistance on a mutually destructive issue such as illegal drugs that have by and large an almost 100% mortality rate with time is not draconian or those of a dictatorial expansionist.

That you are being spoken to with clear and unambiguous terms with some relatively minor import tariffs is only shocking because leaders on both sides have either refused to deal with or are incapable of regarding these issues as detrimental to both nations.

Ask yourself where might Mexico be if the cartels had not been allowed to gain such a hold over their nation over a period of decades.
I would say those politicians who are screaming the loudest that this is some travesty have either profited politically or financially by their existence or are unwilling to have it shown it could have been effectively controlled years ago and they did nothing.
The definition of insanity or aversive

I agree, but it doesn't matter what Americans desire, because it's not a democracy anymore. 2024 was your last free election; there is no longer any hope for a peaceful transfer of power, and the next time the Capitol building is stormed, it will be by uniformed officers of the US military.

Slapping tariffs on Canada has never been about drugs. It's all about a hostile state creeping up on what it believes to be easy prey. More overt moves will follow.
