According to an exclusive report published by The Washington Post, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Dan Caine, along with other senior officials at the Pentagon, are preparing a major plan to present to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in the coming day, which would see the downgrade of several of the U.S. Armed Force’s Unified Combatant Commands and a shift in the balance of power among its top generals, as part of a consolidation previously sought by Hegseth and other members of the Trump Administration.If adopted, the plan would usher in some of the most significant changes at the military’s highest ranks in decades.
