Russian Missile and Drone Attack Halts Gas Production in Poltava Region

On the night of Thursday, October 16, Russia attacked gas production facilities of the DTEK Naftogaz company in the Poltava region.

As a result of missile and drone strikes, the operation of the gas production facilities was halted. The company’s statement says this is yet another Russian strike on its energy infrastructure.

The Ukrainian Air Force also reported a Russian missile and drone attack in the Poltava region.

Russian troops hit a training unit of the Ground Forces with two ballistic missiles

On the morning of October 16, Russia launched a massive combined strike on Ukraine, in particular, with two ballistic missiles on the territory of one of the training units of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, located in the rear and relatively calm part of our country.

As reported by the Operational Command "South", due to the enemy hit, despite the notification, moving to shelter and other security measures taken, it was not possible to completely avoid losses.

By decision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Military Law and Order Service is conducting an official investigation into this fact.

Ukraine's defence minister reveals details of new military aid for country after Ramstein meeting:
Ukrainian Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal has revealed details of military aid packages that Ukraine will receive from its allies following the meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (also known as the Ramstein format).
⚠️➡️Shmyhal said on Telegram that Sweden will provide US$8 billion in security assistance to Ukraine in 2026-2027; Czechia will supply a new package worth US$72 million; Canada will allocate US$20 million for winter equipment and missile components; Portugal will contribute US$12 million to the International Fund for Ukraine; and Finland is preparing its 13th package of military assistance.
The minister said that partners have made new contributions to the PURL (Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List) initiative, which provides for the purchase of US weapons for Ukraine, totalling at least US$422 million.

The 12 C-130J Military Transport Aircraft that Turkey will procure from the UK have undergone maintenance prior to delivery.

The Turkish Air Force currently has approximately 20 C-130s in its inventory. These aircraft are between 55 and 68 years old.

The aircraft to be procured from the UK are 25-26 years old.
