Source comes from Russian GOV website:

1/ Stoltenberg: “The number 300,000 is the first and the second tier. One part of that is ready within 10 days and the second part…within 30 days. And together this is well over 300,000 troops. We will continue to work on this. The plan is to have this in place by next year.”
2/ It seems that a third of NATO’s new force model—100,000 troops out of 300,000—will be on under 10 days’ readiness. That seems pretty impressive, given that majority of VJTF, which was 5,000-strong spearhead force of NATO Response Force, was on less than seven days’ readiness.
#NATO’s new force model will provide more troops at higher readiness, pre-assigned to specific defence plans. It will improve NATO’s ability to respond at very short notice to any contingency.

I'm thinking about when Russia started positioning its troops on the border with Ukraine a few months ago.

🚨⚡⚡

That the Russian military & its much-touted Black Sea Fleet couldn't secure an island 170 miles from its homeport from a war-torn adversary with fixed-wing combat aircraft numbering in the dozens & no real operable Navy is an absolute stunning failure of massive proportions.

They've done this sort of thing before. Severomorsk, 2016. Two-day smokescreen cover over the Northern Fleet homeport. That one was interpreted as an asset concealment exercise. Not sure what they would want to conceal in this instance - certainly not the bridge itself; perhaps whatever was crossing the bridge... But that's a weak theory. Your guess is a good as mine.

Earlier today Russian Ministry of Defence claimed that Snake Island is under full fire control of Russian Navy and Air Forces - likely "show of forces" as a kind of prove
Can you imagine how angry the Black Sea fleet commander is. He just lost the most strategic island in the sea. And now his pilots just missed the island with their strikes in front of the whole world.
