The reactor is for manufacturing plutonium, a key component of miniaturised nuclear warheads.North Korea’s Kim calls on military to ‘accelerate’ war preparations
"North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has ordered the military, including its nuclear program, to “accelerate” war preparations to counter what he called unprecedented confrontational moves by the United States.
Speaking at an ongoing meeting of the country’s ruling Workers’ Party, Kim “set forth the militant tasks for the People’s Army and the munitions industry, nuclear weapons, and civil defense sectors to further accelerate war preparations”, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Thursday."
"Meantime, Kim Jong Un has a new asset to further his nuclear ambitions. The International Atomic Energy Agency said last week that North Korea has commissioned a light-water reactor that has been in the works for years." @Friendly Engineer
