That it might, but they’re not going to completely cut off the United States because it would cripple them. Realistically all they need to do is wait for midterms, democrats will probably take a majority, and Trump will be reined in.

Assuming a situation does not occur that prevents mid term elections (whatever that might be). President Trump has already stated that mid term elections are unnecessary.

If Trump wants Europe to defend Greenland, then why did he just penalise the 8 countries who sent military personnel there with tariffs for this "dangerous move"? It's clear this isn't about security.
 
Europe can financially cripple the United States for a long time. This should be treaded with extreme caution.

Europe and USA are much more inter-dependent on the trade and economic side than Europe and Russia.

Like a lot of US treasury bonds are owned by European nations. If they dump those, that could hit USA's economy pretty badly.
And i'm sure that the USA have also ways to hurt Europe's economy aswell
