Assuming a situation does not occur that prevents mid term elections (whatever that might be). President Trump has already stated that mid term elections are unnecessary.

Cause to cripple Russia you have to cripple its own oil/gas industry.
For Europe (for some of the countries actually) it would be like pushing the self destruct button.

Europe and USA are much more inter-dependent on the trade and economic side than Europe and Russia.

Like a lot of US treasury bonds are owned by European nations. If they dump those, that could hit USA's economy pretty badly.
And i'm sure that the USA have also ways to hurt Europe's economy aswell

Treasury bonds. Europe doesn't own Russian treasury bonds (and FWIW, Russia is financially cripped.)

Discussing politics as it affects crisis analysis is fine. Using derogatory language against one party or another, or against members from other countries will absolutely NOT be tolerated anymore. I will not let 2026 turn into 2024 Part 2 as far as this forum is concerned.
