Volcano eruption on La Palma could cause a Mega-Tsunami

The volcano is becoming very active again. Nearing 30,000 earthquake overall. Fissures & cone are actively collapsing. Explosive eruptions occuring frequently.

The island continues the increasing decline of events that are destabilizing the mountain.

Lava begins to reach the sea

- The lava is falling steadily into the sea, as if it were a "river".
- The lava accumulated on the coast has already reached almost the height of the cliff, about 100 meters.

Canary Islands volcano ‘much more aggressive’ as new fissure(s) erupting:

[Sat 2 Oct 2021 22.00 EDT]

The erupting volcano on Spain’s Canary Islands has blown open two more fissures, with authorities reporting “intense” activity in the area. The mountain keeps deteriorating & a reminder that this will be a ongoing threat for weeks or months until the volcano stops erupting.

Have a plan, don't get alert fatigued, keep a close eye on the situation as it develops.

The volcano is spitting out so much fire it's outstanding.

Yes even worst case scenarios plenty of cities with large and tall skyscrapers, highrises across the Eastern US. Mountains are not incredibly to far away from the east coast either if where not factoring in traffic.

Also the good old human spirit to survive is incredible. Many will die, but not millions. MOST of the deaths will occur after the fact from lack of food, water, power, meds which is why you should prepare for any disaster.

I am more concerned of the property and economic damage. You must consider that NYC alone becoming a inhabitable island would destroy our economy. But where talking about multiple economic hubs (not just NYC) essential to our economy virtually destroyed in a day.

It would be the biggest economic catastrophe any country has ever faced or seen in human history.

Most of the nations population lives on the coastlines. Just in NY, New Jersey and Maryland would have close to a million people swimming let alone the coast of Florida which would easily top a million.

A wave a half mile high is the worst case scenario they say now but even a 50 foot wave would still travel miles inland and that would be devastating in Florida. Miami and the rest of the cities on the coast would be gone.

I already wrote it and I will repeat it for you, the worst case Mega Tsunami would have the speed of an airplane and the weight of a million tons.
Water at the speed of sound cuts through steel like a hot knife through butter.

It will crush everything in it's path, there is no chance to survive on the coast.

Not many of my comments made in through, so I guess it's time to bring up the realy bad news now.
The entire northern quarter of the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands, lifted ten centimeters overnight; a startling and very serious development in the ongoing volcanic eruption
The sudden uplift of such a large portion of the island does not bode well for the unstable land mass along the southwestern flank.

If that unstable landmass slides into the ocean, the east coast of the U.S. could be hit with a massive Tsunami 7 to 8 hours later, wiping out many major cities.

So if this worst case, mega tsunami hits the east coast, how far inland could the devastation and death go. Sounds like it’s inevitable at some point sooner than later. And can Russian nuke subs still travel through it

Very far inland. Hundreds of miles in some areas. Or in FL case the entire peninsula.

They have models and projections for it on YouTube done by NatGeo to Discovery channel, and other scientists.

Edit:
Will also sling shot around Florida and hit some gulf coast states besides Florida WCS.

Actually according to Hal turners link the of the image the lift is the northern slope. That would be worse for Europe.

Although it is a unlinked image from Hal turner that should always be taken to a serious grain of salt.

Remember this has happened many times before and the science on effects of a landslide from la Palma is contested.
The land mass volume from a land slide here is not comparable to the strike fault uplift in 2004. Not nearly the same amount of mass displacement

The northern slope is not about to drift into the ocan, but what is lifted can fall down and release alot of energy = a huge Earthquake, this could trigger the landslide.
You missed the important part about the unstable landmass that can crush into the ocean.
The entire eastern section of the island has risen 5 to 8 cm, it is directly opposite to the unstable land mass,
It's like shearing off the country at its most critical point.

Even if the Tsnunami would be just 5 meters high the coast would be still gone.

I will be in my boat on the west coast of Florida with coolers of water, food and flood insurance papers in the dry box 😆.
