At the start of the week while I was at a local shopping centre I got confronted by a woman who was asking me if I had seen her loaf of bread. I initially thought it might have fell out of her trolley and she was just walking back along where she had gone in case she could se it. But no, was I wrong, she proceeded to tell me how it had jumped up sprouted legs and ran away from her. Ok I thought as I started to back track to the car when she started to describe all these sexual things she could do to make her bread jealous so it would come back to her. As I got back to the SUV she started to make a bee line for the passenger door. At that point my dogs picked up something was wrong when they saw her heading to the car door. They barked and it made her back off. I started and quickly put it in gear as she tried to open the door handle. Luckily I have my car set up so as soon as it is put in gear all the doors automatically lock blocking her from getting in. Needless to say I drove out of there pretty quick and I still have no idea what it was all about.
Was she high on drugs, a mental health case or an attempted car jack?
A couple of days later I got this obvious scammer who sent me the typical Nigerian Prince scam except this time he clamed to be a US government official trying to hide money from Trump. I put up the VPN that has the other end somewhere in the Midwest USA. I also use a US based email address that I used since the days I worked for the US government. I then proceeded to tell him how pathetic his attempt was as he was using Gmail and not a government e-mail address for starters. I then proceeded to play with him indicating his originating e-mail server location and how it was all forwarded to the FBI.
Needless to say a couple of hours later I got this irate e-mail telling me how he knows I am in city x where my VPN end was and he had tracked down where I live so he was sending someone over. Obviously not the smartest tool in the shop.
Today I started to get direct messages with Facebook from this woman telling me how she wanted me to come over and look at her melons and help with her pollination. This was a clear honeypot bot. I discussed with a friend who also stated he had been sent almost the exact same message so we both had a good laugh at that one.
Has definitely been an odd and amusing week this week.
