Florida Senator Marco Rubio has called America’s tense relationship with the People’s Republic of China a “conflict on six key fronts—geopolitics, diplomacy, culture, technology, commerce, and trade.” But after President Xi Jinping’s trip to San Francisco this month, President Biden reiterated the “competition, not conflict” messaging and said that the relationship between the two nations seems to be in better shape than it’s been in years.
