Def-Secretary L. Austin says "US ready to defend Ukraine" in press briefing as a exact quote:
That’s not concerning at all!
Yes up until very recently US has just stood aside and give logistical/intelligence information. NATO offcials have been leading in the talks & action. Not the tone I thought the US would strike.

He said "defend Ukraine's sovereignty"

I'm not sure if there's a difference between defending Ukraine and defending its sovereignty, I could be grasping at straws. But they've been saying they are committed to Ukraine's sovereignty for a while now.
Yes but I don't think we have reported it which L. Austin said this yesterday. Also this is the US Def-Secretary saying this publicly. That's a message.

To defend one nations sovereignty from a regional power like Russia you have to physically defend it yourself. That is if we are being serious about it.

Was bound to happen. Just remember their doesn’t have to be a massive US troop build up to respond. Just enough to bloody and slow Russian advances.
Putin won’t want to risk prolonged fight at home (citizen-21 you might have some incite here) or internationally.
Internationally and in the press there’s been a successful campaign to defend Ukrainian as the challenged nation.

Def-Secretary L. Austin says "US ready to defend Ukraine" in press briefing as a exact quote:
Still no mention of sending military. Still no movement of that sort, either. If the U.S. really planned to defend Ukraine with troops, they are certainly taking their sweet time about it.

Which is why I still think it is going to be sanctions.

We'll know more after the meeting tomorrow.

Still no movement of that sort,
Not much movement would be needed. All the assets, hardware, troops are all pretty much in place in case of a conflict.

Anything extra would just be reinforcements. Eastern Europe has slowly over past 7 years build up offensive & defensive capabilities since Crimea.

More so then less Eastern Europe-(Poland, Baltic States Block, & Ukraine itself)-is already poised and in place and have been doing so for 7 years.
