Sorry I do not have a transcript of this. On BBC world service newshour this morning a Ukrainian MP from Odessa was asked if he feared escalation in the level of force. He replied that this was not possible beyond WMDs (an obviously incorrect statement, but that's what he said), which he thought they might do. After a brief interlude he was asked again about that topic and said "no comment, no comment on that". So clearly there's some attention within Ukraine to the potential issues that could be caused from going off script and raising that topic. I will see if I can find a more concrete link, but if the newshour podcast isn't out yet, it will be shortly if anyone cares to listen.

Also on this topic, said MP admitted that the Russian attack on Odessa that was repulsed was about 30 guys and a couple helos. So more encountering the point guy on a platoon than defeating an amphibious assault.

This could in fact make some sense of Russia's nuclear posturing in the past 24hrs, no way there wasn't foreknowledge of these talks and waving the nuclear wand around so to speak could be an attempt to apply some pressure in negotiations.

BBC just had conflicting report re: talks. Quoted Ukrainian sources as saying talks WERE underway; Russian sources saying talks WERE NOT underway.

The timing of that and the referendum in Belarus all screams Cuban Missile Crisis. This doesn't look good at all.
 
Great, now when I started to worry less about Ukraine now this happened and I'm about to have a fucking panic attack. I don't want it to end like this.

My friend, do not worry. We are only looking at people using their words. I doubt anything is going to happen. Come on, are we really just gonna commit global suicide like that? No. Cooler heads will always prevail. ❤

Agreed, I think all of this increased readiness is part of a negotiation tactic, still something to keep an eye on, however I am more worried about panic from people who just read headlines. It could also be Russia wants to tie them up in negotiations and then do some all out assault (idk though, when you have Russian officails apologizing for the war it sounds like they know this was a huge mistake), either Russia was going easy for a bit or Ukraine put up an epic defense (or a combination of both) we do not know yet. Ukraine has done a great job so far but they should not let their guard down. something about this whole thing feels off to me.

Ok. Now that we moved to level 3, would actual fire exchange between NATO and Russia be needed to move to level 2? I'm in London, UK, and thinking about potential escape plans.
 
Last time I saw this site in yellow was 7 years ago.

The important thing right now is for everyone to begin basic preparations. Get the bug-out bags ready, fuel your cars, establish a family emergency plan, plot out your escape route to avoid traffic, take out cash, and tools for barter, and keep an eye on the forum, telegram and discord for updates. DO NOT PANIC. If and/or when we hit DEFCON 2, you must be ready to relocate on a moments notice.

My opinion here is that there is real potential for this to go bad very quickly. If we see US nuclear forces on alert, or verified reports bunkers are being fully staffed, then it is time to get concerned. Putin is not stupid, he is putting his nuclear forces on alert to pressure the west into leaving Russia alone. Russia holds a lot of cards at the moment, and the unpredictability of Putin is his advantage at the moment.

Yeah, I can't imagine that their nuclear forces weren't already at a heightened alert posture due to this. Seems to me this is more pointing out the obvious to remind key players that they are serious.
