Unsure what the sources are, but if this can be confirmed by multiple ones it has potential to be big, even if the SOF might just be there to train Ukrainians.

That happens when they want to kill you.The United States dehumanized the Japanese during World War 2 and the North Vietnamese as well, plus others I'm sure.
Every culture does this.
It also happens when you want to kill them. There are no good guys in war; only those who are less evil. That happens when they want to kill you.
And the winner of the war gets to write the history, that's why the goodies always win in the end!It also happens when you want to kill them. There are no good guys in war; only those who are less evil.
Unfortunately, I agree. Two of my personal philosophies:I agree. Unfortunately sometimes you have to fight evil with evil. At a basic level people fight for the people that they have lived and trained with and when you see them killed or horribly maimed true hate grows in your heart. War is hell on earth.
So did Austrailia to some degree. Also removed all Japanese and German Place names. Yesterday was ANZAC day in yesterday, a day of contemplation on loss and actions of war.![]()

Canada has done it too.
I could not agree more. Yet, some would argue that war is man's province.I agree. War is the most brutal thing humans do to each other. It's a shame and a stain on the human race. IMO
At some point, this situation will spiral out of control if the policy of trying to bleed the Russians in Ukraine continues. Whilst the policy is preferable to all out conflict, there is also an inherent danger that at some point, the Russians will see NATO as an active combatant, and start to attack the arms shipments before they enter the Ukraine. That's just Lavrov being Lavrov. He also said (paraphrasing) that nuclear weapons was obviously unthinkable and that they would do everything in their power to keep them from being used, even that there are some who inflate the risks.
Maybe, but at the same time I don't see Russia wanting to risk that even though they see NATO as an active belligerent on Ukraine's side in the war. They have the potential to intensify attacks on Kiev or perform much more thorough raids on western equipment on Ukraine's territory if they want to.At some point, this situation will spiral out of control if the policy of trying to bleed the Russians in Ukraine continues. What worries me is the fact that there doesn't seem to be any desire on either side to come to some sort of understanding that could lead to some sort of peace deal. I highly doubt the Russians will back off from their stated policy of forcing Ukraine to become a neutral country - as well as getting the Ukrainians to accept the situation in the disputed Republics and Crimea. And whilst the Ukrainians are holding their own on the battlefield - backed up by arms from NATO - they think they can eventually defeat the Russians.
I think next six weeks will tell us a lot about how this will all pan out.
Agree completely, this is something I think the US has forgotten in various recent adventures.one of the historic hallmarks of western warfare is maximum effort at the battlefield and at home needs to be concentrated to bring overwhelming force to the enemy and subdue them as violently and quickly as possible. Decisive victory must be the sole aim and purpose of the war effort.

I too think the Russians will do all they can to avoid an open war with NATO; but there will be a point that will force them to act if the war drags on. I just don't see them backing out of this. Maybe if the west totally changed tactics and tried to meet the Russians half way, a deal could be worked out. I just don't see that happening, though; especially if the policy is to weaken Russia, and keep Zelensky in power at all costs.Maybe, but at the same time I don't see Russia wanting to risk that even though they see NATO as an active belligerent on Ukraine's side in the war. I still don't see them doing something conventional against NATO in that case and more a warning strike, worst case tactical nuke, or best case a limited attack also intended to escalate to deescalate.I too think the Russians will do all they can to avoid an open war with NATO; but there will be a point that will force them to act if the war drags on. Meet them half way exactly where?Maybe if the west totally changed tactics and tried to meet the Russians half way
