What is Russia preparing for May 9, 2022?

I'd have to say all of the above, plus maybe a few more not mentioned in the choices. Like I've said before, I think it's going to be a long hot summer in many ways.

I believe it will be none of the above. And this post proves, they don't have to. The fear of it alone is enough.
When our enemy actually attacks, they are not going to telegraph their strategy like that.
The only ones who like to telegraph their intent is North Korea, and even then just for "missile tests," not anything actually strategic.

I think putin will declare some kind of victory and cease hostilities. Then the question will be, will Ukraine let them? IMO

I can't see that happening. What victory could Putin possibly claim? That not every single Russian trooper has been killed yet?

I don't know, maybe something like the nazis have been defeated in Ukraine by the courageous russia military. They have been bloodied pretty good and putin wants to stay in power I'm sure. If something like this happens and they try to keep the Donbass and Crimea will Ukraine let them or go on offence to take it back?

If Russia pulls out, I can see Ukraine withdrawing. I don't think they'd continue to poke the bear.

Ukrainian negotiating terms are Russia with drawing to Feb24th boarders and before any permanent normalization of relations nation wide referendums on the brake away regions a d Crimea.
Totally unacceptable to Russia.

Russia has two options, continue to plod on and lose equipment, capital ships, and troops. An overall continuing degradation of their military.
They might or might not pick up some more incremental real estate gains.
They probably won’t be able to take Odessa. Too much of heavy armor and nato air intel will make it to hard. They will continue to fire cruise missiles into Odessa.

Or they can escalate in one form or the other.
The only way they prevail conventionally or otherwise is if Ukraine and nato folds.

I don't think much will happen. They will claim they are close to achieving their aims, along with the normal belligerent rhetoric.

Unless western intelligence is totally useless, I am not sure how the Russians will expand the war against NATO countries after the losses they have taken.

Russia will never concede any land and or objectives taken thus far, this is part of Putin's mantra and vital to him if he plans to remain in power for any foreseeable future. It has to be seen how long Zelensky plans to continue counter attacks to recapture pre invasion territories which of course seems a uphill battle as Russia solidifies what they have taken thus far, Mariupol imo among the most valuable captures.
