Northerly wind = a wind coming from the North, blowing South.

so you are right, in the Summer it would blow directly south, in the fall it would push south west.
But still, not east.
 
This is a map I whipped up(on the correction of what wind direction means) that is prolly not very accurate, but portrays the general idea, based on that link.

Honestly, the map is pretty crap, but id say it seems it wouldnt go towards Europe, likely the black sea/Crimea/Romania/Turkey region.
The map could use a lot of work, but a map like this is probally one of the better ways to guage this than a radiation map, because the radiation itself is pretty unpredictable, other than the direction (on a normal day)
All the wind direction maps in Ukraine are often off because its seasonal, and obviously, like me earlier, some people get confused on wind direction when they make radiation maps.
