I agree. I believe that this information was deliberately loosened upon multiple low clearance individuals, hoping for a bite. The espionage is real, but the opportunity was probably manufactured. This, of course is totally deniable.
 
The kid screwed up in a major way once.
And then as a second time when he didn’t walk away from his phone computer and cards and run like hell as soon as the story broke last week.
They would have likely caught him eventually. But to spend your last days of freedom just hiding at home crapping your pants is pathetic.

More importantly why did someone so stupid to think they could fish for respect on discord by leaking TS material to anonymous buddies. Even enter into the same space TS is available.

The investigation and fallout for those that allowed this should be as invasive as it will be for the kid

Officers and some very senior NCO’s serve for 30 years. Most serve for 20. That makes the senior leaders 40 and the absolute senior leaders 48-52
Their age group invented discord.
 
I expect a plea as well. The people that failed to secure these documents are the ones that are going to be in a world of trouble.
As far as I can tell, he had no Custodial relationship with them. In fact, some of them looks like they were crumpled up in the trash, and he retrieved them.

I could see beautiful Fort Leavenworth beckoning a score of people.
