Another perfect example of a nation who values their independence and the larger nation simply refuses to here it. Or worse yet just doesn’t care.
America needs to stop straddling the fence on the independent nation of Taiwan and reverse our reunification stand. We were wrong on this and have ignored the wishes of the Taiwanese people.

Tell the state department to suck it up and deal with it.

It's the CIA they were attempting to destabilize the region: along with creating radical cells that we can rely on later. You'll see why we were taking these actions in appx ~1-4 years.
 
It's way more complex. Taiwan is a Japanese island. We loaned it to KMT when FDR-D and Stalin empowered Mao to take the mainland. MacArthur ceded it to KMT after US-Japan war ended. Nixon abandoned them. US-Japan have been military allies since 1854 until FDR launched covert war against anticommunist Japan in 1933. In 1953 Eisenhower-R rearmed us to stop communism. We're allies today. If PRC attacks Taiwan, Japan will intervene and US-Japan security treaty means USFJ and Pacific Fleet will be allied combatants vs PRC. It's not just Taiwan-PRC or Taiwan-PRC-US problem. Japan will counter-attack anyone who attacks Taiwan.

Really then why does China not occupy Taiwan, and Taiwan has had their own government for 50 years with a independent economy and currency.

Just saying it is so does not make it so.
There was a civil war, Mao failed to take control of Taiwan and life goes on.

Now China can claim this all day long and many will accept it without considering the facts.

But the facts are that the CCP government has never maintained any control over the island. And that is because they failed to occupy the island during their civil war

But go ahead blindly ignore the independent will of 23.35 million people to satisfy the myopic ambition and pride of the CCP.

Kind of like Ukraine, why are they so willing to fight and die to remove Russian occupiers from their territory.
Is it because they see themselves as Russians or Ukrainians who wish to remain independent.
 
Half my Family is in Canadian (O’ Canada…) It is so nice and so clean, the people are amazingly polite and courteous. I hate it. I can’t wait to get back to the states where everybody is rude and armed. Feel like I can relax more around here, where everyone is an asshole, and I fit right in. Hmmmm I’m not sure I said what I meant to say. Oh well….

I don't think all is lost yet. In fact we have faced worst as a nation in the past & survived and in many different ways.

Sure China poses a more different challenge than the Soviet Union did. But core principles the same, just another run of the mill Cold War competition style flex.

Those my freinds are winnable, we have won it in the past, and still hold some hope that a hot world war three will not occur through this new cold war we face with China and as always with authoritarian systems wait for it to collapse and fall appart from its own short sighted doings.
