Discussions --Lead Up to Talks & US Military Intervention Against Iran Nuclear Facilities Threatened When Talks Fail

Iran has not confirmed direct talks. Only Trump has said so. Also what & how Bibi and Trump said, must watch, under 2 minutes long:

That's not so reassuring. Iran will not give up its nuclear weapons program, especially under duress. So we are still stuck with no off ramps. IMO at least, why even bother to talk unless everyone's stalling for the inevitable. The Saudis (unscheduled) visit today is entirly unreassuring while the Israelis are in town too.

Don't be to easily falsely pulled into a sense of ease. Even Trump said in the video "this is a very dangerous situation" and for once I don't think he was just making shit up on the fly like usual.
Its for optics.

What worries me about a major war in the middle east is the possibility of a suicidal agent sneaking a low yield nuclear, dirty, chemical or biological weapon into a city in Israel or the US. Similar to a "Sum of all Fears" scenario.

How many clandestine agents have infiltrated the wests open societies over the last few years. Even if they don't have the capacity for a WMD I can Invision a scenario where suicidal agents assassinate or attempt to assassinate political, military and civilian leaders on a massive scale.

Something we've been concerned about for years.

Yes just imagine a group stealing from hospitals, universities and veterinary clinics. Dirty bomb sourced locally.

And don't forget industry. I built a Mossbauer spectrometer that used a moving radioactive source accelerating and decelerating to use doppler effect to alter the emitted radiation. This was used to analyse the purity of produced aluminum. Surprisingly the security around the radioactive source was effectively non-existent. I cannot but help wonder how many other sites that use radioactive sources have similar slack protocols.

The source I had was a radioactive cobalt sample that could easily be made into a small dirty bomb. As a result I feel these concerns that have been expressed are highly valid.

Thankyou yes with my and your sources of material mentioned security lacks at all locations. Easy access by staff, easy access by non staff. = dirty bombs possible anywhere. I see this especially possible should the US use tactical nuke for underground facilities in Iran. Iranians globally would seek similar revenge best they could on the west.
This course of action may well be highly regarded as acceptable by angry Iranians everywhere.

President Trumps note to khamenei should be a picture of his house with a bullseye on it! (y);)😏
That’s pretty much what he did with one of the Taliban leaders.
Behave or we know where you live kinda thing.

Israel believes that the talks are preventing it from eliminating the Iranian nuclear program. Iran affirms its support for the resistance. Trump emphasizes the "military option" if the negotiations fail.
Israel sees the talks as a stall tactic. Always has. Netanyahu believes every day of diplomacy is another day Iran inches closer to a bomb. The second talks collapse, IsraeI will move fast.

Trump says the “military option” is on the table if talks fail. But let’s be real... when Trump talks Iran, he’s often repeating Netanyahu. Trump takes Bibi more seriously than most U.S. officials. That’s not policy, it’s echo.

Iran’s top adviser Shamkhani threatens to expel IAEA inspectors if “external threats” continue. Once inspectors are out, Iran can go dark. North Korea did the same. By the time inspectors got back in, they already had the bomb...

I keep seeing from people (not here) it’s 50-50 whether a deal happens with Iran, but I just don’t see it. Iran isn’t about to dismantle a decades deep nuclear program, especially not under threat.

Their own officials are warning that negotiations are being sabotaged from within. Shamkhani just made it clear external pressure = zero cooperation. And Netanyahu’s in Trump’s ear daily, saying the talks are a smokescreen.

This doesn’t feel like a coin toss. It feels like a 15% shot at best at a deal and even that’s generous.

I think Trump’s push to meet face-to-face with Iran’s leader boils down to two things:

One: optics. Just like his summit with Kim Jong-un, historic moment, lots of cameras, but no real outcome. It’s about the image of diplomacy.

Two: political cover. He gets his handshake photo, then when talks “fail” he has a ready made excuse for a strike. “See? I tried. I met him. They didn’t want peace.” It’s preloaded justification, not genuine engagement.

Feels less like a peace effort and more like prewar positioning, with a camera crew.

I don't believe the US would use a nuke first for any reason today. I do believe the US has built and is refining conventional high explosive, hardened bunker buster bombs and the way they would be used to dig out a deep bunker would be the use of multiple high precision bombs one after the other to really get down deep. At least that's what I would do. 🤷‍♂️

I do not agree with this statement. Sure, some would but I do believe the majority of the population would like nothing better than to see the current regime fall in tehron. I met some Iranians recently when I was in Australia who were very nice people and were sad about the way things were in their home country. It is very sad that people that just want to live their lives in peace have to flee their country because of their repressive governments.
