Not to mention, India still attacked Pakistan the last time a terror attack like this occurred on their border in 2019.
Well, India didn't attack Pakistan per se, but what they claimed to be a Jaish-e-Mohammed training camp inside Pakistan.

Pakistan did send up interceptors, however.

Yes the 2019 Balakot airstrikes were framed by India not as an attack on Pakistan itself but as a counter terror operation targeting a terror training camps within Pakistani territory. Pakistan's response with air intercepts and retaliatory strikes similarly avoided targeting Indian population centers too. Direct military engagement nonetheless. Luckily things steered off. That time.

In the current context, if India again strikes within Pakistan but on a much larger scale as the winds are indicating... Whether the Pakistani side accepts that framing as they did tactically in 2019, remains to be seen imo.

Because the global geopolitical situation isn't already complicated enough.

India's response needs to be closely monitored. Remember, Pakistan and India hate each other on a level that transcends politics and ideology.

This cannot be said enough. We are taught to hate Pakistan from a very young age and this hate is deeply rooted in the entire populace.

I've been monitoring local chatter aside from social media platforms. On the ground level here in Delhi, people are angry. They're calling for blood, and if I had to guess I would say military action against Pakistan is practically guaranteed.

Airports and train stations are flooded with evacuated Kashmiris.
Yes been reporting on that. Have video and photo evidence on this page and previous pages.

Not good. All signs pointing at escalation via military strikes within Pakistan. ⤵️
🚨WARNING🚨

EVACUATIONS UNDERWAY FOR INDIA CONTROLLED KASHMIR:

The Northern Railway has initiated special emergency train services to evacuate tourists from Jammu and Kashmir following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. This decision comes in response to heightened security concerns and logistical challenges in the region.

Special Train Service: A one-way special train is scheduled to depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra station at 9:20 PM tonight, with an intermediate stop at Jammu station at 11:00 PM, and is expected to arrive in New Delhi around 9:00 AM the following day.

Train Composition: The train comprises seven general coaches, eight sleeper coaches, two third AC coaches, one third AC economy coach, and two luggage-cum-brake vans.

Assistance for Passengers: Help desks have been established at Jammu Tawi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra stations to assist passengers. Additionally, a helpline has been set up at 0191-2470116.

Reason for Service: The special train service is a direct response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals and injuries to 17 others. The attack has led to a significant number of tourists seeking to leave the region promptly.

Additional Challenges: The closure of the Srinagar–Jammu National Highway due to landslides has further complicated evacuation efforts, making rail and air travel the primary options for those wishing to leave the area.

Special trains are being operated by Northern Railway to provide additional facilities to tourists and passengers in Jammu and Kashmir.

Shri Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer of Northern Railway said.

⚠️️Strategic Implications of Civilian Evacuation:

⚡️1. Freedom of Action:

Removing civilians, especially tourists, grants the Indian government greater operational freedom. It reduces the risk of collateral damage, negative press optics, or hostage like scenarios if kinetic action escalates near civilian zones in the near future...

⚡️2. Preparatory Signal:
Even if not officially declared, this evacuation is a pre kinetic posture. It mirrors patterns observed in other conflicts. Evacuations preceding targeted strikes (i.e, 2016 surgical strikes, 2019 Balakot).

⚡️3. Panic Containment vs. Preemption:
The messaging is framed as “security and convenience,” but the scale and speed indicate the state expects possible repeat attacks or retaliatory responses. It may also be attempting to avoid panic spreading uncontrolled.

⚡️4. Military Logistics Clarity:
Civilian traffic out = military logistics in. With fewer civilian bottlenecks, movement of troops, equipment, or convoys becomes cleaner and less politically charged.

⚡️5. Public Opinion Conditioning:
This can be interpreted as psychological priming of the population, something is coming, and it’s being managed.

Context:
These images clearly show a crowded and likely overwhelmed terminal, reinforcing reports of civilian evacuation.

I cannot underline this enough.⬆️

Reading through local feeds in both Kashmir and India, civilian voices and government/military spokesmen alike are openly talking about revenge. The rhetoric now goes far beyond the limited scope of the 2019 strikes.

Also I personally think that they'd have flown Vance out if the situation was that bad.
Well, all that really means is that India likely won’t take direct action until Vance departs and realistically it would take India a few days to mobilize and prepare for a military response anyway.

In 2019, it took several days, possibly up to a week, before India launched strikes on Pakistan following the Pulwama attack if I recall correctly.

It wasn’t immediate. There was a clear delay between the attack and retaliation, which gave time for planning and diplomatic maneuvering. These kinda of military operations take time to prepare.

People in India are comparing this to Israel's October 7th
This is what is concerning. People saw Israel's reaction and, militarily, it has been effective.

What they may not be considering is that Pakistan is not Hamas or Gaza.

The comparison to Israel’s October 7th response is understandable... but dangerously misleading.

Pakistan isn’t Gaza. It’s a nuclear armed state with a full military and its own red lines.

If India models its response on Israel without accounting for that, it risks triggering a far more escalatory and unpredictable conflict.

PLEASE TAKE ALL REPORTING HERE:

That cutting off the water supply could be considered an act of war by Pakistan.
Suspending the Indus Waters Treaty is no small matter... it's one of the few threads of cooperation that survived every war and crisis since 1960.

Unilaterally halting it is practically a declaration that diplomacy has left the building. 🥶

Indian Foreign Ministry concludes press release after meeting. Key points:

👉 Suspension of Indus Waters Cooperation: India has suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, under which 39 billion cubic meters of water from the Indus River system flows from India into Pakistan annually. The treaty, which governs the sharing of river waters between the two countries, has long been considered a symbol of cooperation even amid years-long conflict.

👉 Closure of Attari-Wagah Border: The iconic Attari-Wagah land crossing, a critical point for trade and people-to-people contact between India and Pakistan, has been shut down with immediate effect.

👉 Ban on Pakistani Nationals Entering India: The entry of Pakistani citizens into India has been suspended indefinitely. This includes both visa services and cross-border travel permits.

👉 Expulsion of Military Advisors: All military advisors posted at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi have been expelled, signalling a downgrade in military-to-military diplomatic engagement.

👉 Reduction of High Commission Staff Strength: India has asked Pakistan to reduce its diplomatic presence in New Delhi to a skeletal staff of 30, effectively slashing the mission's current operating capacity of 55.
Banning all Pakistani nationals and expelling military advisors? That’s a diplomatic chokehold... 🥶

Slashing the High Commission’s staff to a skeleton crew is one step short of a full break in relations... 🥶
