Putin refuses ceasefire after Trump call

Russia believes the US will do nothing.

The defense minister of Germany and Ukraine formalize the following points:

- Germany is going to fund Ukraine's long-range missile program. The production capacities in Ukraine have been ready and were lacking only the financing

- Delivery of the first long-range weapons should arrive at the battlefields in the coming weeks already. Weapon systems have already been introduced to the Ukrainian military, so no additional training is needed.

- New air defense assets worth €2.2 billion, primarily firing units and missiles of IRIS-T SLM and IRIS-T SLS will be transferred

- Financing of satellite communication, communication devices for the military leadership, artillery ammunition and medical supplies

German PM Tweeted:

We want to enable Ukraine to counter Russian aggression. To that end we are financing a considerable part of Ukraine’s Starlink coverage. We will jointly produce long-range weapons systems made in Ukraine. There will be no range restrictions.

Russia proposes peace talks with Ukraine next week after Trump threats

Russia proposed to Ukraine that the countries hold a second round of peace talks on Monday in Istanbul in order to exchange written proposals for a ceasefire and ending the war, Ukrainian and Russian officials said Thursday.

Why it matters: Ukrainian officials see the Russian proposal as a way to placate President Trump, who has been growing increasingly frustrated with President Vladimir Putin and even said Tuesday that the Russian president was "playing with fire."

The latest: Within hours of the proposal from Putin adviser Vladimir Medinsky, who heads the Russian negotiating team, the Ukrainian side provided Moscow with a document laying out how Ukraine sees the path to a ceasefire, negotiations, confidence-building measures and a leader-level meeting.

Ukraine communicated its ceasefire terms to Russia

The corresponding memorandum was sent to Vladimir Medinsky, tapped by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to represent Moscow during ceasefire negotiations with Ukraine.
“I sent our document, which reflects Ukraine’s position, to the head of the Russian delegation; they received it,” Umerov wrote in a Facebook post.
The minister added that Moscow is delaying the delivery of its own memorandum on the matter.

Zelensky said that the Russian side did not hand over the so-called "memorandum" to either the US, Ukraine, or Turkey, despite promising the opposite. The president added that the Russians are doing everything to "make the meetings futile."

Russia accuses ally Serbia of betrayal for supplying arms to Ukraine

I doubt Serbia sees itself as an 'ally' since they seemed to be fully aware and extremely unhappy Russia meddled and tried to swat the Kosovo hornet's nest a year or so ago. So that stunt only bought Serbia closer to Europe.

Following outcry from Moscow, Serbia’s president vows to halt weapons contracts if arms are bound for Ukraine

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has responded to accusations from Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service that Serbian defense enterprises continue to supply ammunition to Ukraine, calling some of the allegations false. In recent remarks cited by the local media, Vučić said he’s discussed the matter with Vladimir Putin privately and in the presence of the two nations’ diplomats. “We have formed a working group with our Russian partners to establish the facts [regarding the supplies]. Some of the things being alleged are simply untrue,” the Serbian president stated.
