How did the innocents feel who were caught up in WW2 feel?
War is not and cannot be contained to a conveniently set of civilized parameters. That is a myth.

I’m not saying this as some excuse for a nation to go all mediaeval on an opponent, not at all.
As your adversary ignores the agreed upon “norms” and of treatment of civilians and children so too will that dictate how you respond.

I don’t like it either, parts of Gaze have been reduced to rubble and children have died.
What exactly is Israel to do?
They gave Gaza free and clear to the Palestinians 20 years ago. They had opened their boarders for Palestinians to work in Israel to provide jobs while no Arab neighbor would. They exercised very little influence over the politics of Gaza even when Hamas seized control and executed opposition figures.

Hiding in hospitals, schools, residential buildings, and UN installations.
What exactly is Israel to do with that?

Hamas has dictated the terms and conditions of this war, and it is a war. Not a policing action.
Hamas still holds hostages, maybe or just their dead remains. They took infants from the homes of dead parents.


at some point in this process this war your left with nothing to resort to but to shwack-em!
I used the slang word there on purpose to illustrate that at some point in a conflict, if is bloody enough, your left with no recourse other than to keep killing your opponent till they submit.
Never chose a combat strategy that unnecessarily risk your own troops or population

That and I’d probably get impeached for carrying a different kind of SAW in with me to the state of the union address

Im pretty sure that regardless of what headlines say, Trump has slipped Iran a démarche that is a blank slip of paper with a 0 on it
