News media indicates a close relation with India and Russia. If Russia is not an ally with Nato and freedom loving democracies, then why do North American defence companies share and sub contract defence manufacturing with India? Would it not be the most apparent way for important technology to be transferred to Russian and in turn Chinese interests?
India does support stopping the war in Ukraine.
Is it more about profit than brining the wars to an end?

Meh; it's not that close. @Sentry is our resident India expert, so perhaps he can explain in detail, but generally - Russia is trying to find buyers for its oil while also making it apparent that it's not diplomatically isolated anymore.

Because there's profit to be had, and also the US has a vested interest in supporting India as a natural counterweight to China.

It's not like the US is selling out its crown jewels to India, and I also doubt Modi would extend such an offer to Russia. If he wants Russian oil, he can pay for it with good old-fashioned money.

Trading with the enemy is as old as warfare itself, and happens in almost every war. As does profiteering.

Tell your congress that . Geopolitics not profit.
Ukraine the same. Governments get rich quick scheme with profits off deals,weapons sales etc to support a losing conflict while everyone else suffers. Looking forward to end result.
