I can't help but wonder if Iran is stringing along the US trying to buy time for some reason. From the things I've read (like this), Iranian concessions seem small and incremental.

The deployment of American assets to the middle east is ridiculously expensive. I know it's 8 months away, but if they string us along (somehow) until November, the political situation in the US might change slightly, though I think Trump might act sooner than that. Maybe Israel will act before that and tie our hands.

Yeah, I kinda got that sense too. Max news had some weird story that Iran was waving profitable deals in oil, minerals and other stuff…and I’m kinda like “You gotta window? Better look outside!

Its actually just a feeling, that’s why I only stated the time period.
Nothing specifically, it’s an accumulation of resources, status of talks, diplomatic announcements. The Ford CSG moving, the arrival of the F-22’s and the F-18 growlers to Diego Garcia.
I fully acknowledge I could be all wet on this estimation.

I haven’t said much about the justification of a second strike. Honestly I’m mixed about it. The IRGC needs gone, but regime change in Iran is as likely to produces a worse situation than what we have now.
There is no explainable reason for Iran to be enriching uranium to 60%. That far exceeds any practical civilian uses for uranium. Except for some experimental medical research. Which coming from a nation that can’t manage its water resources. To funding proxy agents to harass nations around them.
It simply does not follow to explain their need to enrich uranium like this. Weapons development is the only rational reason.
I’d prefer to have more information on where there at or the stability of the regime verses the potential replacement leaders. But that’s not going to happen.
So I assume the president has more information and I hope he makes the right decision. He’s not going to invade but any kinetic action taken is going to create unforeseeable risk.
Sometimes in a representative gov the citizens just have to trust he will make a wise decision.
Those that oppose Trump will find this unpalatable. That’s understandable and really is unanswerable to them till the dust settles.
The net gain of replacing the IRGC is a big step in possibly stabilizing the Middle East. I have no definitive assessment of how this will all shake out.
Constitutionally I would prefer this be done in conjunction Congress support. Meeting the gang of eight is a token effort to involve Congress. But our current political disunity would never reach a consensus on what to do.
We need a president who will stand up publicly and deliver the hot potato responsibility for war fully in the lap of Congress. Telling both houses to get their shit together and act responsibly.

The meeting with the gang of eight and the conclusion of the last round of talks. The hard line of zero advanced enrichment by the US. Followed with Irans flat no refusal.
Those are also part of my gut check meter. Intuition is a real thing, it’s not always right. But it’s unwise to ignore it.

Iran should have nuclear weapons in my opinion. Everyone carries on about rogue nations and madmen and terrorists and all have been proven incorrect for years to decades. Eg.
1. Madman Putin RUSSIA access to nukes 2 + decades.
2. Kimmy NORTH KOREA
3. PAKISTAN biggest terrorists camps .
4. Netanyahu ISRAEL
THESE ARE EXAMPLES .

Shia - Iran compared to sunni of which all should be aware the differences and be honest as to who where when how but na not convenient hey. The biggest war mongers in the ME and i mean local not visitors like US , are sunni and netanyahu . Not israel, just him. Terrorists groups not funded and supported by Iran like west prefers to point the finger at. Look who the west roll out carpet for as a leader in a ME country. A previous terrorist . Well there you have it anything is possible. Like nazi war criminal being paraded as a hero and retracted. Iran is a sovereign country and should be allowed to defend itself without restrictions and have the ability of deterrance like so many others including so called enemies with so called western titles of threats . They have their own space program , majority of population are happy regardless of western propaganda. And if they are not it is their issue not US. Oh they all chant death to america and the west one second , the next oh those poor people, fuck off to those idiots playing that sick twisted game. Source finance etc somewhere else , surely the US has the ability and creation to find other resources for its needs than the current path in the ME. Grow some for home where it is needed. Stop now before the inevitable happens again like so so many others in history. There is good reasons why such a long delay with Iran. It aint deals. Goodluck. In all honesty majority global governments need a clean slate , fresh start with clear new laws in place for politicians and power removed to change them by leaders and or politicians. People still beleive their leaders can do and change things. Obviously there is restrictions on this somehow somewhere. Honest politicians are required , those who cannot be bought, coerced etc etc. France got it right once. A long time ago. Nowadays a little extreme none the less worth it should it have been adopted globally . Maybe one day we can do similar without extremism. 25yrs jail mandatory

Iranian FM Abbas Araqchi said Iran is not expanding long range missile capability and claimed Iran caps missile range under 2,000 km. We figured it out pretty easily. I think of RDX as evolutionary. It was the controls for the timings that I think were tough.
