N12’s Amit Segal reports that Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich is expected to urge the security cabinet to focus Israel’s response on Lebanon rather than Iran.

According to the report, Smotrich argues that for every Iranian missile fired, Israel should destroy dozens of buildings in Beirut’s Dahiyeh district. Saying such a response would be more accessible, more effective, pressure Hezbollah to push Iran to stop, and preserve Israeli capabilities for a broader strike on Iran if needed.

JUNE 8TH. ISRAEL–IRAN/LEBANON SITUATION, OFFICIAL SOURCE PICTURE: Iran’s IRGC said it launched Operation Nasr against Israel’s Nevatim and Tel Nof air bases, framing the strikes as retaliation for Israeli attacks on radar sites inside Iran.

The IRGC also said it struck Haifa area petrochemical targets after what it described as a U.S. & Israeli attack on Iranian petrochemical infrastructure.

Iranian military messaging also tied the escalation directly to Lebanon, warning Israel against continued attacks on southern Lebanon and Beirut’s Dahiyeh district.

Reuters reported Iran said its first attack wave was over, but that strikes could resume if Israel continued attacks on Lebanon. Reuters also reported Trump demanded both Israel and Iran stop shooting.

Israeli reporting said Israel may halt attacks on Iran for now after U.S. pressure, while continuing operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

Jerusalem Post reported Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich proposed striking 20 to 30 buildings in Beirut’s Dahiyeh district for every Iranian missile fired at Israel.

Hezbollah/Lebanon activity remains live, with Israeli reporting citing Hezbollah fire toward IDF posts after reported Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon.

As per Iranian opposition news, Israeli Air Forces targeted an underground command and control center in Kermanshah, this morning in retaliatory strike against Iran. Reports claim that multiple senior IRGC officials were killed while discussing attack plans.
Reports exploding across Iranian opposition media: IRGC Chief Ahmad Wahidi — the same commander who issued a fiery threat against Israel just hours ago — may have been taken out in Israeli airstrikes inside Tehran.
The attached video uses split-screen footage of a large urban explosion alongside Vahidi's portrait (initially labeled "Eliminated"), but no official confirmation exists from Iranian, Israeli, or major international sources as of June 8, 2026.

The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has reported that an oil tanker caught fire approximately 15 nautical miles northeast of Masirah Island, Oman, forcing its crew to abandon ship. The vessel has been identified as the Palau-flagged, Indian-crewed tanker MT Marivex, carrying 24 Indian crew members.
Information released by CENTCOM, the tanker was disabled by U.S. forces while allegedly attempting to violate the ongoing U.S. naval blockade of Iran.

Iran’s Minister of Intelligence Esmaeil Khatib was killed overnight in a precision strike, a senior Israeli official told Fox News. The U.S. government had been offering a reward for information on Khatib, who was responsible for overseeing Iran's entire global terror apparatus. "His network specifically targeted current and former U.S. officials, including President Donald Trump," the official added.
