CENTCOM said U.S. forces carried out self defense strikes against Iran, targeting Iranian air defense systems, ground control stations, and surveillance radar sites near the Strait of Hormuz using U.S. Air Force and Navy fighter jets.
Reuters reported the U.S. strike package lasted about four hours and that a U.S. official said nearly 20 Iranian targets were struck.
Iranian/Arabic reporting said U.S. strikes hit areas around Jask, Sirik, and Qeshm, with explosions reported around Qeshm, Sirik, and Bandar Abbas.
The IRGC said it launched missile and drone attacks on U.S. military bases in Jordan, Kuwait, and Bahrain in response to the U.S. strikes.
Arabic reporting said the IRGC described 21 targets in U.S. air and naval bases, including targets at al-Azraq in Jordan, Ali al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait, and U.S. Fifth Fleet related facilities in Bahrain.
Jordan’s state news agency said Jordanian air defenses intercepted and shot down five Iranian missiles over the Azraq region, with no casualties or material damage reported.
Kuwaiti reporting citing the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army said Kuwait’s air defense systems intercepted hostile aerial targets at dawn Wednesday.
Reuters reported Bahrain’s air defenses repelled Iranian attacks, citing a media adviser to Bahrain’s king.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry warned Gulf neighbors not to allow U.S. or Israeli forces to use their territory or facilities for attacks against Iran.
The IDF said it struck Hezbollah infrastructure in Tyre and other parts of southern Lebanon, including six Hezbollah sites in Tyre and loaded launchers in southern Lebanon.
