U.S. forces completed additional self defense strikes against multiple targets in Iran, targeting Iranian military surveillance capabilities, communications systems, and air defense sites across Iran.
Reuters reported the latest U.S. attacks were announced complete roughly four hours after they began, shortly after midnight in Tehran.
Iranian agencies reported explosions in Sirik, Kargan, Bandar Abbas, Minab, Karaj, and Varamin.
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said U.S. strikes were continuing as part of Operation Epic Fury / Project Freedom, focused on the Strait of Hormuz, commercial shipping, and Iran linked vessels.
Iran’s top joint military command announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping, including oil tankers, and warned vessels attempting passage would be fired on.
CENTCOM denied the Strait of Hormuz was closed and said commercial ships were continuing to transit.
Reuters reported the IRGC said it attacked 18 U.S. targets at airbases in Kuwait and Bahrain, as well as U.S. Fifth Fleet related facilities in Bahrain.
Reuters reported Iran later targeted al-Azraq in Jordan for a second night, firing ballistic missiles toward the area.
Jordan’s state news agency said Jordanian air defenses and the Royal Jordanian Air Force intercepted and shot down 20 missiles launched from Iran toward Azraq in Zarqa Governorate.
Kuwait temporarily closed its airspace due to Iranian attacks and diverted flights to alternate airports, then later reopened airspace and said commercial air traffic had returned to normal.
Bahrain’s Interior Ministry said an 11 year old girl suffered minor injuries and homes and vehicles were damaged from falling shrapnel after drone interceptions during Iranian attacks.
Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, and the United States issued a joint condemnation over Iran’s missile and drone attacks in the region.
CENTCOM said U.S. forces disabled the Palau flagged M/T Settebello in the Gulf of Oman after it allegedly violated the Iran related maritime blockade while attempting to transport oil from Iran.
Reuters reported India said 21 Indian crew members were rescued after the attack on the Settebello off Oman.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry accused the U.S. of striking water reservoirs supplying drinking water to ten villages.
The IDF said launches crossed from Lebanon toward Adamit and Shlomi, and that Israeli forces struck the launch sources. The IDF also said Israeli aircraft struck Hezbollah targets in Jabal Blat, including launch posts and a military site.
Reuters reported Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon killed at least 13 people on June 10, citing Lebanese security sources.
AP reported a Qatari diplomatic delegation left Tehran after talks. AP also reported Iran wants any deal to include an end to Israel & Hezbollah fighting in Lebanon.
