Iran deal ‘approved, will be signed in days’: Trump calls off strikes

Donald Trump says he has an agreement with Iran to end the war, but that the final details still need to be completed in the coming days. “We just made a great settlement of the war with Iran, and we’re going to be subject to finalisation of documents, which should get done over the next few days,” Mr Trump said at the White House on Thursday local time.

He said Vice President JD Vance could be in Europe for a singing ceremony that would possibly take place in Europe over the weekend. Mr Trump said he wouldn’t attend a ceremony to sign an agreement. “The documents are in pretty final shape,” he said, adding that the Strait of Hormuz “will officially open as soon as we sign, which could be soon, very soon.”

Claims on finalization of Iran-US MoU text false: Media

It as US President Donald Trump suggested that an agreement with Iran was within reach, a claim rejected by Iranian officials.

Trump alleged that Iranian officials had contacted him directly and requested a halt to military strikes. He also warned that military options would remain available if Tehran refused to accept Washington’s proposed agreement.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has denied the claim.

In a statement early on Thursday, the IRGC’s public relations office said the US president’s claim is “a cover to escape war."

📣🧹
Instead of reporting every Middle East development by the minute or hour, I am bookmarking developments as they happen, sourcing them, and compiling all confirmed information into periodic reports.

The Middle East remains an active crisis, but it has not currently crossed Nuclear-ID’s threshold for continuous live nuclear risk coverage.

I also have to cover other world theaters, including Europe, Asia, Russia/Ukraine, NATO, and civil nuclear developments.

👉So unless something materially changes, Middle East coverage will mostly be handled through morning and evening confirmed recaps. To much non nuclear threat reporting material for me to cover by the hour or minutes regarding Iran crisis.

Other theaters will still be reported normally as individual “one and done” reports or live updates.

👉UNLESS things truly change. My middle East reporting will be "postmortem" or "autopsy" of days/nights events. Not live reporting.

From the horse's mouth, deal to be signed tomorrow...
@realDonaldTrump
Barack Hussein Obama’s Deal with Iran, the JCPOA, was an easy, beautiful, smooth road to a Nuclear Weapon, which Iran would have had six years ago, and would have used long before now. My Agreement with Iran is the exact opposite, A WALL TO NO NUCLEAR WEAPON! In fact, they no longer want a Nuclear Weapon, nor will they have one, either through purchase, development, or any other form of procurement. The Deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN TO ALL.
Our relationship with Iran is a much different and better one than previous Administrations have had. Unlike Obama’s Hundreds of Billions of Dollars in payments to them, including 1.7 Billion Dollars in green, cold cash, no money will exchange hands.
At the appropriate time, when all is calm, we will go in and get the Nuclear Dust, buried deep under the powerful sunken granite mountains, thanks to our beautiful B-2 Bombers and their brilliant pilots, and downblend and destroy it, whether in Iran, or the United States.
We look forward to working with Iran, and the entire Middle East, long into the future. Hopefully, this process will all work out quickly, easily, and smoothly. If it doesn’t, we have the ultimate alternative, hopefully never to be used again!
Thank you for your attention to this matter!!!
President DONALD J. TRUMP
