The AfD (German Political Party) Leak Is Exactly As Ugly As Everyone Paying Attention Expected

What a surprise (NOT) neo-nazis are endemic inside the AfD...

For years, supporters of Germany’s AfD including admirers of the party elsewhere in the Western right have insisted that describing elements of the party as neo Nazi or extremist is hysterical liberal exaggeration.

Then somebody dumped the inbox of most AFD party members.

The AfD has confirmed that it was hit by a cyber attack. More than 420,000 purported internal emails have subsequently appeared online, stretching back years. Reuters has confirmed the breach and publication of the material.

And buried inside the correspondence is some REMARKABLE (not surprising if anyone with a brain pays attention or isn't spoon fed information) READING.

⭕ A 2018 AfD disciplinary case concerned a member who reportedly joked in a party WhatsApp group about turning refugees into handbags and boots, an explicit allusion to Nazi concentration camp atrocities.

⭕ Another internal correspondence contains the resignation of an AfD district chairman who alleged that a fellow board member circulated a Christmas card bearing a swastika and “Heil Hitler,” while racist jokes and extremist attitudes were treated as something to laugh off.

⭕ An AfD Bavaria linked email reportedly urged party leaders to regularly shout:
  • “Merkel verrecke.”
  • “Merkel, croak.”
  • “Mohammedaner verrecke.”
  • “Muslims, croak.”

⭕ Then there is a 2017 internal discussion concerning a photographer believed to have Antifa connections. AfD personnel discussed getting him accredited so he could be physically seized and removed.

One of the messages closed with:
  • “Heil und Sieg.”

⭕ Jump forward to May 2025 and we arrive at perhaps the most surreal email subject line in modern European party politics:
  • “Sale of swastika flags and drugs at the information stand in Bottrop by a district board member, measures required!”

This is what happens internally in AfD. Also this isn't merely ancient material dredged out of the party's early years. Internal AfD correspondence from 2026 documents party officials taking action against members over alleged conduct including displaying a Nazi banner containing a swastika and performing a Hitler imitation.

It also creates a rather uncomfortable question. Once is an incident. Twice is a problem.

When your internal disciplinary archive starts looking like somebody spilled the table of contents of a book on German extremism across the server... Nobody was imagining the pattern. It's real. And that's the point.

The existence of this correspondence and the EXTRAORDINARY number of recurring Nazi and racial extremist controversies represented within it, is now impossible hand wave away as nothing but hostile media framing.

Turns out that when people kept noticing smoke, there really was quite a lot of fire.

Hitler is probably smiling up from hell. Almost 100 years later, the cancerous ideology he left behind has once again found political ground in Germany to sink its claws into.

This was no secret before the leaks. It’s just much harder now for the global far right to wave it away as, in their words, a “nothingburger.” Ehem, like to see them run in circles trying to explain this one away... 🤔

Elon Musk and JD Vance actively supported and campaigned for the Alternative for Germany (AfD) during the campaign for the February 2025 federal elections.

What does measures required mean?

Five or six emails are cited, the group releasing the data says the questionable post originated from just 10 accounts.

The total tranche of emails released it is estimated is close to 460,000

If we were to examine the inboxes of any political or activist group. Do we actually expect them to not contain correspondence that contains or is encouraging extremist messaging in them from a few extremist.

I’m not saying there is nothing here, but I am saying thus far we’re looking at potentially 6 total cited emails out of an inbox of 460,000 thousand. That’s .0013%
.0013% is not even statistically significant.

So I encourage researchers and journalist to keep researching. Until that time apply the 72 hour rule.
