Oct. 29 (UPI) -- El Salvador's government has confirmed deployment of more than 2,000 troops to Haiti as part of a large-scale military operation to rescue four Salvadoran service members who disappeared 10 days ago after an ambush by armed gangs.



El Salvador's Foreign Ministry announced the deployment Wednesday after a telephone conversation between President Nayib Bukele and Haitian interim Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé.

In a statement, the ministry said Bukele reaffirmed his commitment to "supporting security efforts against gangs" in Haiti and thanked Haitian authorities for their cooperation.

While I am generally in opposition to the El Salvador government, I do believe this is best for Haiti. However this could wind up being the start of a war, as despite the “cooperation” from Haitian authorities, El Salvador is fighting against the groups that control Haiti which could lead to war and IMO constitutes an invasion and may wind up playing out the same way.

I’ve seen some information suggesting US support may be involved, and I would suspect some is involved and there is a small but real chance the US begins providing direct military support in the event of a war between the 2.

Anyway back to vanishing, I came here looking to see about info on it but found nobody seems to have mentioned it. Audios again friends

Lot of equipment and working with in UN frameworks to support an international coalition to Haiti.
As yet no reported troops, that said I would have to believe observers are there. Kinda had to lead if you don’t have eyes.

Haiti is a special kind of something.
When does an authoritarian government become the preferred alternative to gang and criminal control.
I don’t know where that line is as a rule.
But I have come to believe there are times an authoritarian government would be better than what exist in some nations.

What is the best governance and economic model very likely won’t be the same for all countries.
