I’m not sure what that says about our electorate and media. Sending that many tankers right before an election obviously portends to an attack possibly soon after.
It also sets up a situation where Iran has lots of targets in Israel.

Like most of you I don’t see the attack coming till afterwards. But that kind of deployment can’t go unnoticed. Except of course by American voters.

It’s obviously tactically timed, will be interesting to see what comes of it.

80 tankers could service hundreds of A/F all depending on round trip length and potential loitering time. And of course the mix of tankers.

There is another possibility, politically here as well. Which ever way the election goes. If the conflict with Iran is concluded favorably before January. It won’t matter who controls the house.
A major strategic aim of Trumps 2nd term will be accomplished. The total reorganization of the centers of influence in world energy supplies.
If he does go all in with air power on Iran I would expect even more aggressive deal making with Putin.
Right or wrong Trump and his administration clearly believes Zelinski has tried to sabotage negotiations since Feb 2025.
That of course is a whole other can of worms. The only thing one can say for sure is that the remaking of world energy, minerals, and trade routes have been on the front burner since day one.
If dems win the house he will be log jammed the next two years. So get it done now.

Entirely possible but I don’t think that is the results their looking for.
