Romania says its radar surveillance system detected an aerial target linked to a Russian drone attack near Vâlcove, Ukraine, roughly 30 km from the Romanian border.

Romania issued a RO Alert for northern Tulcea County and scrambled two RAF Eurofighter Typhoons under NATO Enhanced Air Policing, along with a Romanian IAR 330 Puma helicopter. No unauthorized Romanian airspace incursion or ground impact was reported.

NATO has decided to place a new signal battalion headquarters and support company in Denmark.

Denmark says the unit will plan and command elements responsible for communications and data networks between NATO units, becoming NATO’s fourth such signal battalion HQ alongside Germany, Italy, and Poland. Full establishment is expected by 2029.

Lithuania’s Defence Ministry says Seimas approved amendments expanding military response authorities against new air threats.

The changes cover not only drones, but also other autonomous or remotely controlled airborne objects that violate flight rules, threaten defence institutions, or are used as weapons. The amendments also address compensation for damage caused by lawful use of military force by Lithuanian or allied NATO forces.

Lithuania’s Presidency says President Gitanas Nausėda met with parliamentary and government leadership to discuss NATO nuclear deterrence and Lithuania’s role in it.

Nausėda said Lithuania should send a clear signal that it is a full part of NATO’s nuclear deterrence, while noting there is currently no need or intention to deploy nuclear weapons in Lithuania during peacetime.

An IISS study cited by Anadolu says Russia was “highly likely” behind a coordinated drone campaign over Europe, examining 144 drone related incidents across more than a dozen countries between August 2024 and February 2026.

The study says the campaign targeted military, nuclear and other sensitive sites, including nuclear facilities in the UK, France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
