The Dutch Defence Ministry says the Netherlands is moving to join OCCAR, enabling more joint European development and procurement of vehicles, weapons, ammunition, and military equipment. The accession bill was sent to Parliament today.
Lithuania’s Defence Ministry says recent UAV related incidents in the Baltic states were discussed during a meeting with Romania’s defence minister at Šiauliai Air Base. The talks also focused on NATO’s Baltic Air Policing mission.
Croatia’s Defence Ministry says a CBRN defence platoon from the Guard Armoured Mechanized Brigade conducted a readiness drill at the Vinkovci barracks. The exercise included decontamination of personnel, equipment, and vehicles.
Belgium’s Defence Ministry says around 200 Ardennes Hunters personnel are training with French units near Nîmes. The training includes anti drone capabilities, trench combat work, and Spike anti tank missile systems under the Belgian & French CaMo integration project.
Estonia’s Defence Forces say Spring Storm 2026 has entered its final stage, with selected units beginning live fire exercises at the central training area from May 23rd to June 1st. The exercise includes allied participation, cross border activity in northeastern Latvia, UK brigade integration, and unmanned system testing.
Latvia’s National Guard has multiple combat support battalion training activities underway this weekend.
The 56th Combat Support Battalion is training in Jēkabpils municipality, while the 45th Combat Support Battalion is active around Kuldīga, including Īvande, Ēdole, and Padure.
U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa says U.S. Navy expeditionary forces are operating with Norway in the High North through May 24th. The exercise is testing robotics, autonomous systems, and explosive ordnance disposal capabilities in Arctic conditions.
Danish Defence says Exercise Arctic Endurance will continue throughout 2026, with Danish and NATO allied soldiers training in Greenland. Denmark says the activity is part of an increased military presence in and around Greenland and the Faroe Islands.
Latvian Public Media reports a mystery drone crashed into Lake Drīdzis in Krāslava region around 08:00 local time and detonated on contact with the water. No injuries were reported. Police, firefighters, and Latvia’s National Armed Forces are working the scene.
