A short time ago, in the municipality of Galați, a drone crashed into a residential apartment block. The impact was followed by an explosion and the outbreak of a fire in an apartment located on the 10th floor.
Forces and equipment from ISU Galați are responding at the scene to limit the effects of the incident and secure the area, supported by other MAI personnel and specialized SRI teams.
Two people who were inside the burning apartment self-evacuated. So far, no victims have been identified.
The mission is ongoing, and we will return with official information and data as they become available.

Two people with abrasions are receiving medical care at the scene.
So far, no other drones have been identified.
The fire has been extinguished.
Also, an investigation team specialized in explosions, made up of police officers from the Criminal Investigation Directorate and the National Institute of Forensics within the IGPR, is on its way to the intervention site.

Based on checks carried out by SRI specialists at the scene, the drone’s entire explosive payload detonated.
Evacuation of the other stairwells of the building is not required.
Total people evacuated or self-evacuated: approximately 70.
