This is just the latest State Dept. travel warning, but believe this part is new:

Kuwait reported Iranian attributed UAV attacks against vital, military, government & civilian linked targets for a second consecutive day.

Following attacks on several vital and military facilities, a new wave targeted an unidentified government facility in northern Kuwait and civilian company vehicles on Bubiyan Island.

Kuwait said air defenses destroyed the UAVs, with falling fragments causing material damage but no casualties. The Foreign Ministry condemned what it called continuing Iranian aggression and reserved Kuwait’s right to take protective measures.

No corresponding Iranian operation statement was located. Kuwait has not released UAV counts, launch data or imagery.

One tanker was disabled and another narrowly missed at the western entrance to the Strait of Hormuz as Iran formally suspended ordinary crossing permits.

The LNG carrier GasLog Shanghai was struck by an unknown projectile northeast of Lima, damaging its engine room and leaving it not under command. GasLog said the vessel was stable and everyone aboard safe, with no pollution reported.

A second tanker northeast of Khasab reported a nearby explosion and large splash but sustained no damage.

Iran’s official Persian Gulf Corridor authority separately said crossings were presently impossible and permits would resume gradually only after stability returned. A senior Iranian security official warned continued U.S. escalation would further tighten the closure and affect other strategic corridors.

Neither UKMTO nor Oman identified the weapon or attacker, and Iran has not claimed either incident. The permit suspension does not establish that all maritime traffic has been physically stopped.

ALERT: U.S. missions across at least ten Middle Eastern posts issued coordinated security alerts advising Americans already in the region to consider departing or prepare to leave if escalation occurs.

The alerts appeared across Gulf and Levant states, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Israel, Iraq & Egypt. They are contingency advisories, not evacuation or ordered departure notices.

President Trump separately said the United States would continue striking Iran until Tehran could no longer sustain the pressure.

No new U.S. operation had been officially announced. Reporting remained contradictory. The Wall Street Journal reported that an order had been issued, while Axios reported that no final strike order had been given. CENTCOM’s public ledger listed no operation after July 29th.

The first two U.S. KC135 aerial refueling tankers arrived at Bulgaria’s Bezmer Air Base under a deployment supporting American operations in the Middle East.

Bulgaria’s parliament previously authorized up to eight tankers and 250 U.S. personnel through October 1st.

Sofia says direct military action connected to the conflict will not be launched from Bulgarian territory.

Trump cancels attack, says ‘perimeters of a deal’ agreed

US President Donald Trump says he has cancelled planned attacks on Iran “subject to being able to rapidly make a deal”.

He says Iran and other countries in the Middle East asked him to hold off any attack as “the perimeters of a deal has been agreed to”, including the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

What the heck is a perimeter of a deal? How is it any different from the last 5 or so deals? 🤦

UPDATE: President Trump said he canceled a planned U.S. & Israeli attack against Iran following appeals from Tehran and regional governments.

Trump tied the suspension to a proposed arrangement requiring Iran to immediately and fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end what he described as its nuclear threat. He said Israel had joined the commitment.

A Saudi readout confirmed regional deescalation efforts but did not confirm Iranian acceptance of specific terms.

➡️Tehran has issued no formal acceptance, while Israel has made no separate announcement.

➡️No signed text, implementation timetable or detailed nuclear provision has been released.

➡️Trump’s cancellation announcement is confirmed. A mutually accepted agreement or ceasefire is not.

Iran says reports that Tehran agreed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz are false and that no change has been made to Iranian policy.

A military source cited by Fars said the strait remains closed, with passage requiring prior authorization and coordination with the IRGC Navy.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry warned Sunday that any country cooperating with the United States in an attack on Iran, including by providing bases, military facilities or logistical support, would be considered among the aggressors and face Iran’s claimed right to self defense.

An Israeli security source told Kan News that dealing with President Trump is difficult and that his last-minute cancellation of a planned large scale U.S. attack on Iran is damaging and eroding Israel’s operational capability. The source said this was the second time within a week Washington informed Israel of an attack that could shake the Middle East, only to cancel it at the last minute without explanation.
