Israel Intensifies Security Talks Amid Growing Iran War Concerns

Fresh fears of a wider Middle East conflict emerged after Benjamin Netanyahu convened another high-level security Cabinet meeting to discuss the possibility of renewed military confrontation with Iran.

According to reports from Israel Hayom, the emergency discussions followed a similar Cabinet session held a day earlier after Netanyahu reportedly spoke with Donald Trump regarding future strategic moves involving Tehran.

Sources familiar with American discussions reportedly claimed that another US strike against Iran is increasingly likely, describing the issue as “not a question of if, but when.”

President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Iran on Wednesday, declaring that each time the Islamic Republic attacks a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. will respond with a strike on an Iranian bridge or power plant.
Trump threatened that any such U.S. strikes could target Iranian infrastructure sites near or within its capital of Tehran.
“From this point forward, any time the Islamic Republic of Iran shoots at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, whether it be by Missile, Rocket, Drone, or any other device or weapon, the United States will bomb and destroy ONE BRIDGE OR POWER PLANT, including those located next to, or in, the Capital City of Tehran,” Trump’s post read.
Trump’s message comes after the U.S. completed an 11th straight night of strikes against the Iranian military and its facilities on Tuesday.
Diplomatic efforts have shown little public sign of progress as officials on both sides have dug in on their dispute over the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial waterway through which a fifth of the world’s traded oil and gas passed during peacetime and remains largely closed because of Iranian attacks.

Iran strikes on CIA facilities prompt questions about possible Russian role

WASHINGTON/RIYADH, July 22 (Reuters) - Iranian drone attacks on CIA facilities in the Gulf have prompted U.S. intelligence analysts to investigate whether Russia assisted by providing targeting information or advanced drone technology, said four people familiar with U.S. intelligence.
These people, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss national security matters, said U.S. intelligence officials have ‌not yet reached firm conclusions about the possible Russian involvement in the attacks on CIA facilities. But they cited the strikes' effectiveness and apparent precision, as well as Russia's broader technical support for Iran, as possible evidence.

U.S. forces struck Iranian military targets including maritime capabilities, missile and drone storage facilities, coastal surveillance sites, and air defense assets. The strikes further degrade Iran's ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial vessels.
