Tehran rejects talks under siege, Trump cancels envoys’ trip
US President Donald Trump has cancelled his envoys’ visit to Pakistan for negotiations, saying Iran did not make a satisfactory offer for a peace deal.
Trump’s announcement followed the departure of Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, from Pakistan, where he presented mediators with a potential framework for ending the conflict.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said his country won't negotiate while the United States imposes a blockade on its ports, according to Iranian media.
Iranian FM expected to return to Islamabad, travel to Russia. IRNA, Iran's official news agency, said in a Telegram post that Araghchi was scheduled to revisit Islamabad after completing his trip to Oman and before heading to Russia.
The government has approved the establishment of a team of directors headed by the Prime Minister's Office that will formulate within 21 days a detailed and budgeted plan for private, public and institutional protection in the northern communities. The team will examine existing solutions for protection, multi-year budgeting mechanisms and the integration of strengthening buildings against earthquakes.
