🕵️‍♂️ | US-Israel (&) Iran-Lebanon | Memorandum of Understanding Was Signed | REPORTING ONLY

You cannot ‘kill your way out of every single national security problem’: JD Vance slams Israeli ‘panic’ about Iran deal

US Vice President JD Vance on Thursday criticized Israeli “panic” about the recently signed US-Iranian memorandum of understanding, saying that the use of force cannot solve all national security problems.

“I find this whole freakout in Israel a little bit odd because I think that it comes from a place of mistrust, and I think that America has earned the trust of that region of the world,” Vance told The New York Times.

Israel strikes southern Lebanon in sudden clash surge with Hezbollah

Witnesses say Lebanese citizens have been killed and Israeli soldiers wounded amid a new Israeli offensive in southern Lebanon. Social media video shows rockets and helicopters in the skies above Kfar Tebnit and Ali al-Taher.

🔊 The IDF said it launched a broad series of strikes against Hezbollah in response to what it described as repeated ceasefire violation

According to the military, more than 80 targets were hit overnight across southern Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley, including command centers, launch sites, operatives, and other infrastructure.

The IDF stated that dozens of Hezbollah members were killed, including operatives inside two command centers struck in the Beqaa Valley.

---I think this is also Israel targeting as many important Hezbollah sites before the ceasefire takes place.

Tehran says US must ensure Israel ends attacks on Lebanon

Iran’s deputy foreign minister has told Al Jazeera Tehran is “ready to move forward” on diplomacy with Washington, but the United States must ensure Israel abides by the terms of the deal to end the war.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says the US has a “commitment and responsibility” to end the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, as the deal stipulates.

Commercial Vessels Flow Through Open Strait of Hormuz
TAMPA, Fla. — Commercial ship traffic in the Strait of Hormuz increased June 20 as U.S. forces continued operating in the general area to support freedom of navigation.

Safe passage through the international waterway remained intact today as 55 merchant ships transited, moving large amounts of cargo and more than 17 million barrels of oil to global markets. The Joint Maritime Information Center issued an advisory this week affirming safe passage for all vessels along a designated route that is free of arbitrary requirement claims or impediments.

U.S. forces remain present and vigilant to ensure all aspects of the agreement with Iran are adhered to, obeyed, and in full force and effect.

BLUF: Iran announced the Strait of Hormuz closed today, 20 June 2026, around 1645 local time. The closure does not apply to Iranian shipping or those it declares "friendly states," and the announcement alone is enough to freeze war risk insurance for everyone else, regardless of what Washington says about safe passage. Iran is citing a Lebanese sovereignty clause Israel never signed, while ignoring that the same clause binds Iran's own conduct through Hezbollah. Iran has returned the strait to the same closure regime it ran after 28 February 2026 and before the U.S. implemented a blockade on all shipping to or from Iran.
