🛑 U.S. Nuclear Security Staff Furloughed

The National Nuclear Security Administration has furloughed about 1,400 federal employees during the shutdown. DOE says roughly 400 people are still on the job with no pay to secure the U.S. nuclear stockpile, guard nuclear materials, and keep critical systems safe. DOE says this has never happened before in NNSA’s 25 year history.
