Philippine forces raided two remote farming towns at dawn and found over 200 Chinese nationals running what's now the country's biggest scam bust of the year. On October 2, agents hit sites in Alicia and Siay, towns over 1,000 km from Manila where foreigners almost never go. Of the 244 foreigners detained, the vast majority were Chinese nationals, with a smaller number from Cambodia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Myanmar. Agents seized roughly 3,000 phones, 78 computer monitors, laptops, and SIM cards believed used for online scam operations.
