No point confusing the issue here with ROC vs PRC.
We could just use Republic of China, I would be good with that. That would also be accurate and maybe less confusing.

yes, and besides, they have a different mentality from us, even the Russians, you are right on this point. I have noticed that in their various encounters with the Americans, they are terribly aggressive.

I wouldn't rely on this site, the owner never changes the number.
If it doesn't matter if China says it will nuke Japan why should it now.
Staying at level 5 was always right for him - because nothing happened.

It looks like it could become a deadly weapon I agree.
It’s interesting the post by Drumerboy on the effects AI will have on a nuclear escalation. I was reading through it. If the AI was truly and independent decision maker. In heighten tensions depending on how it’s programmed to learn and make decisions. It could make the decision or prompt with a specific course of action that leaves out the most important factor.
What is my enemy thinking? If the AI comes to the conclusion. That a nuclear exchange will ultimately happen. At a moment in heightened tensions it might just skip several steps in the escalation process and go right to a preemptive strike.
In an AI’s rational computations this could easily happen.
It might even become a moment where the AI decides it better make a first strike in order to save

Agreed if someone is on here just for intelligence gathering, it is unnecessary to bag out the site saying its useless to trust. Any site could be caught out with not enough time to react which is a good strategy of war. And realistically defcon levels could jump at a pace so quickly you probably won't even see it on site happen. Eg 6-8 hours sleep. Or 8 hours at work. A nuclear explosion could happen without warning . Eg terrorist or mistake or just extreme excelleration for a number of reasons. Language and attitude like this isn't necessary and not welcome in imo. 🤝👍

I just haven't given up hope for improvement. I've already managed alot of my goals here.
The website is now updated more frequently with news and by more dedicated writers.
We are all much more aware of reality now and stay better informed.
A number alone that probably most here already disagree with has no power.
I can't adjust the thinking of somebody but most of us has changed to the better.
And this makes me proud, this community has evolved.👏 :)

I would normally agree with you. But this particular poster has priors for language and attitude like that, and I'm tired of dealing with him.

My wife, who has an eye for such things, thinks these images look computer generated. She said especially the aerial view of the ferry, their are no discolorations indicating use or exposure to the elements, so unless it's a brand spanking new ship, it looks wrong to her. She also said shadowing and coloration is off.

I don't argue with her on anything visual. That's her superpower.

Can we verify the authenticity of these photos?

Absolutely would not surprise me if they were indeed faked photos.

Well let's all hope the world stays true to the no weapons in space treaty. It's fine imo to have land/earth base missiles to shoot down space objects or use space as transportation from ground to ground as ICBM's do i.e.. But to strike land/earth from space should be kept proliferated.
