He used to hand info of opposition to the FSB.
He has a long history of collaborating with Russian state security.

Pavlo Durov was placed under judicial supervision. He was forbidden to leave the territory of France. Twice a week, the billionaire must visit the police, as well as pay 5 million euros in bail.

And where exactly does France or the EU have any judicial authority over Russian based news or social media?
My point is you or we can dislike activities of a Russian based media individual. But what legal authority does France have to arrest him?
If we are going to go down this route then we need to acknowledge it as a full blown war and close all the boarders and trade. Pick sides and arm up.

Very little diff than poisoning a dissident in a foreign nation.
We get caught up in the ability of power to do as a wills justifying it as we go. And eventually we end up in a place we didn’t intend to be.

No. Russia for the longest time has been targeting western citizens by aressesting them for no legit reason when traveling to/in Russia. We need to start doing the same. I have and no one should have zero issue since Russia has been doing this to us for a long time.

Russians even in military predominantly communicate on telegram. That's the issue. For Russia at least. Arresting the Creator and owner of telegram is a huge score for us. Who knows what the information we can extract from this guy. All I have to say is France better share with the rest of the West what they find out.

I agree that there are grounds for reciprocally. But the gov, France the EU NATO and the US just need to be honest and acknowledge this is a case of detaining a foreign media figure because we’re in a state of war.
But they’re not their making this case, it looks like, as a case of disinformation. Which is bullshit.
It sets a precedent of abuse in the future.
