There's also going to be a staggering amount of confirmation in the form of OSINT in a hundred different sources. If someone actually uses a nuclear weapon in anger, you will see movements around military installations you've never seen before, aircraft dispersals that simply don't happen ordinarily, etc. Even if NATO/Ukraine would be willing to cover it up or deny it for a while to prevent panic, there are just going to be a lot of tells all over the place to reflect that things got a great deal more serious. This is probably the single best thing about the folks on this site. Lots of folks who know radio, watch aircraft, pick up nuance in news reports, all that stuff. Those bells are going to be ringing like mad if that were to happen.
They are already tinkling pretty good. Ringy-dingy

I might just be in denial, but I just can't see him launching nukes. Putin screwed up bad and he's toast. No matter what happens from here on out, he's gonna be forced to retire or the oligarchs are gonna finish him off. I wouldn't think he would be selfish enough to take the world with him. And even if he wanted to, there's enough level heads around to kill him before it got to that point. Don't forget the oligarchs control russia. Putin is just the puppet. Speaking of...a guy on reddit created a website the other day that tracks the oligarchs personal jet travels. One of interest with all this going on Alexander Abramov He's one of Putin's richest oligarchs and left Germany yesterday and touched down in the states last night. He was in California most of the day today, and is on his way back to Europe now. It might not mean anything....but it's definitely odd timing that one of the most powerful men in Russia is just on a business trip in US while all this is going on. Keep in mind the oligarchy lost 39 billion dollars on the first day of the Ukraine attack. They are not too pleased.

This could mean a couple things… perhaps more but from where I sit…Russia could be ready to “detain” Americans within its borders, as part of war “proceedings” or they anticipate an actual conflict or counter-attack within Russia’s borders. Either way, not good.
You think Putin will hold hostages to save Moscow from a strike as a shield

Satellite images show a Russian military column more than three miles long on the road to Kiev

Could use a couple A-10s for proper sterilization?
