Does anyone have context for the tweet here? It wouldn't be "unilateral" force if in response to an invasion, so I'm guessing it's either reported badly or Biden mixed his words. Either or both seem likely.

Economic sanctions can also be unilateral, which is where Western response seems to be leading.

In this case Nord Stream 2 would be gone. I don't think (the already controversial topic of) Nord Stream 2 could be argued for any longer, neither in foreign nor in domestic politics. Germany is quite depending on gas for heating but not so much for energy production - at least not at the moment, but that could change due to the phasing out of nuclear power as well as decarbonization are in progress.

For context:
This is how electrical energy is being produced at the moment in Germany (stats for 2021):

- 25,6% Wind energy
- 18,8% Brown coal)
- 16,1% Natural gas
- 12,5% Nuclear
- 9,3% Coal
- 8,7% Bio matter
- 5,4% Solar
- 2,8% Hydro-power
- 0,5% Others
- 0,3% Oil

And these are the energy sources used for heating (stats for 2021):

- 48,2% Natural gas
- 25,6% Oil
- 13,9% District heating
- 7,5% Others (including liquid gas)
- 4,8% Electricity

I asked uncle Joe to negotiate for me and after 2 hours and 5 minutes of haggling he proudly presented me the results of the efforts: I can get the car for 17k, don't get the winter tires and will be owing a fancy radio I'll have to buy for the dealer.   1. Turkish sources report US and French Air Force planes flying over the Black Sea
  2. Simultaneously with the movement of the Ukrainian Navy ship towards the Kerch Strait, Biden and Zelensky are holding telephone conversations.
