No not blowing things out of proportion. But if it is a rogue ship and attacks Russia that would be enough for Putin to invade imo.

If Russian & Ukraine go to war I still wouldn't be that worried.

My main concern is the US & French Aircraft in the area mostly.

I think it's just a mundane thing.

The ship "Donbass" of the Ukrainian Navy, moving towards the Kerch Strait in the Sea of Azov, took the opposite course, but still does not respond to communication attempts, the FSB reported. It is emphasized that the actions of the ship are regarded as provocative and posing a threat to the safety of navigation.

I mean. Highly doubt it because of its sailing course. They have to know what direction their going even if systems failed.

I'm sure that's the excuse that will be used. But as a civilian sailor myself it's hard to not know which direction your heading in at all times. Even more so if the sun or moon are fully visibe.

Russia has been spoofing the marine tracking servers for nearly a decade now. The well known AIS severs are guess where? Yep, Russia. They have caused non stop accidents and close calls pulling this crap in fog and bad weather. This is why even our most advanced ships have a poor soul logging tracks on a map non stop like he was on the USS Iowa in WW2.
