A few things:
1. If it was up to you we'd be at DEFCON 3 ad infinitum ad nauseum.

2. That news site is far-right leaning and has mixed factual reliability, so not exactly a credible source for bumping the global alert level.

3. Even assuming the story is credible, we're not going to push the panic button over more verbal rhetoric. DEFCON 3 at the very least involves unusual movement of strategic military resources, which we're not seeing right now.

Sorry to burst your fantasy of worldwide nuclear Armageddon, but it's not happening today.

This isn’t a situation that warrants DEFCON 3. There is a lot of rhetoric coming out of Russia at the moment to amplify the meetings. Check back after January 12th. If the relations deteriorate to neither side talking to each other, then come back here and raise your concern.

Last time it was enough that Russia has tested a new ICMB (Sarmat 2) that this site went straight to DEFCON 3.
Just yesterday Russia was testing a hypersonic missile and nobody gives a damn.
