An Iranian diplomatic source told Reuters Tehran “will not negotiate over its defensive capabilities,” including its ballistic missile program, ahead of expected talks with the United States in Istanbul this Friday. The source said Tehran is “neither optimistic nor pessimistic” about the outcome.
Lebanon PM Nawaf Salam, speaking Feb 3 at the World Governments Summit in Dubai, said he will not allow any party to drag Lebanon into a new conflict. The remarks followed Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem saying the group would not stay “neutral” if the US attacks Iran.
