DEFCON Warning System

This is the DEFCON Warning System. Alert status for 9 P.M. UTC, Sunday, March 6th, 2022. Condition code is Yellow. DEFCON 3.

There are currently no imminent nuclear threats at this time, however the situation is considered fluid and can change rapidly.

Belarus has approved a proposal to renounce its non-nuclear status and says it can host Russian nuclear weapons, though it has not accepted any at this time.

Russian has placed its strategic nuclear forces on alert and has moved its Far East troops closer to Europe to hold drills.

The economic war against Russia has caused Russia to issue threats to France with real war. It has also said that it will respond to countries that have issued sanctions against it.

Russia claims that the West was "hatching" plans for a nuclear war. Additionally, Russia says it does not have an "escalate to de-escalate" military doctrine. The United States says it is working with Poland to provide fighter jets to Ukraine. Poland, however, has denied the claim. Russia claims Ukraine was working on a dirty bomb.

There are some scenarios being considered in which Russia could explode a nuclear weapon either over the sea or over Ukraine in an effort to speed up the war, frighten NATO away, or extort countries to give up its economic warfare against Russia. While many reject this possibility, it must be noted that Russia has vastly misjudged world response to its actions and that Russia is currently in a bad position where it must win the war or face a humiliating withdrawal. This is in addition to the terrible damage that has already been done to its economy. This can lead Russia to act in an irrational manner. The DEFCON Warning System must advise the public to be aware of the growing crisis and to take the steps necessary to protect itself in the event of an escalation.

In response to the war in Ukraine, Romania and Germany have increased defense spending. Russia has turned to non-NATO States Finland and Sweden and have demanded security guarantees from them, likely requiring them to also remain neutral and to not join NATO.

Iran says that it will continue to enrich uranium to 20% in new nuclear deal while China's new missile fields can hold solid-fuel weapons capable of reaching the United States.

The DEFCON Warning System is a private intelligence organization which has monitored and assessed nuclear threats by national entities since 1984. It is not affiliated with any government agency and does not represent the alert status of any military branch. The public should make their own evaluations and not rely on the DEFCON Warning System for any strategic planning. At all times, citizens are urged to learn what steps to take in the event of a nuclear attack. If this had been an actual attack, the DEFCON Warning System will give radiation readings for areas that are reported to it. Your readings will vary. Official news sources will have radiation readings for your area.

Additional updates will be made as the situation warrants, with more frequent updates at higher alert levels.

This concludes this report of the DEFCON Warning System.
