The United States has stopped sharing information with Russia on the status or locations of missiles and telemetry data for test launches that were required under the New START treaty. Meanwhile, the U.S. is to open its first diplomatic mission above the Arctic Circle, an area where Russia has made significant inroads.
The International Atomic Energy Agency states that Iran is only keeping a fraction of the commitments it made in the Non-Proliferation Treaty Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement. Iran also claims to have developed a hypersonic missile.
Both the United States and Cuba have denied a report that China is going to build a spy base in Cuba. However, the U.S. says that China has had a spy base in Cuba since 2019 and efforts to expand its intelligence gathering are ongoing. Nevertheless, current and former U.S. officials claim that China and Cuba are indeed negotiating to establish a new joint military training facility on the island, sparking alarm in Washington that it could lead to the stationing of Chinese troops and other security and intelligence operations just 100 miles off Florida’s coast.
