Cause it’s fun.
Personally I don’t know which would be worse.

•Are these flights instigated by Russia or Russian sympathizers to divide us or make a misstep.
Or
•NATO instigated actors who also are trying to divide us or falsely justify getting more involved.
It’s all just a WAG (wild ass guess) at this point.

The second of those is just a ridiculous idea

What? nations have never used a false flag to drum up support on the home front or justifications for military action.
I’m not a conspiracy theorist on this, and its true false flags haven’t happened very often, but they have been used.
One should never assume their gov is so morally driven they might not at least consider it.

And I’m not in anyway saying this is the likely source. It was just a comparison.

I understand, but it doesn't make sense. I don't think there are any NATO actors who want to start a war if they don't have to.

It was just a comparison to show how the “who benefits” reasoning can’t give a clear cause. The reasoning that Russia would logically not want to do anything to provoke nato. That reasoning can disqualify the argument Russia is the source of the drones.

But you’re right Europe doesn’t want to escalate. When Trump told nato members that if Russian planes enter their air space they should shoot them down.
I bet a bunch of nato leaders leaked in their underwear.

We should be using hellfires on Reapers to take out their launch facilities near our borders, sink/seize their ships from which they are being launched, and tell the Russians to buck up and accept responsibility or F U C K O F F. They can't maintain plausible deniability and also respect domestically when they are forced to accept responsibility when their launch sites are bombed or drones are shot down. This will continue to get out of hand if you don't use a firm hand to bitch slap the fuck out of them back into their places.

Surely they can down one and check it? All this technology and cannot track user in real time? All these recon planes up and useless against drone origin, tracking , and operating sources? Yet over 50 yrs ago + we could communicate to the moon while currently in lose phone reception. Yeah I guess technology isn't at the stage I'd expect by now. I thought they could track cb users. I guess drone technology is far more advanced than military capability to deal with them short of shooting them down one way or another. 🤔😉
Drones are incredibly small, fast, and maneuverable. Not easy to shoot down. Hell, my little $400 DJI mini drone weighs 249 grams and can fly up to 40 mph. Imagine what a $400,000 drone is capable of.
Communications between Earth and the moon were very advanced for their time, combining S-Band, VHF, and UHF into one unified system. It also had redundancies built into it that modern public telecommunications don't have.
It is possible to track a transmission on any frequency, not just CB, but it is not easy and it is most certainly not cheap. If you've ever seen a van or large box truck with antennae at each corner plus others, that was most likely and FCC vehicle tracking illegal transmitters with localized directional technology. The problem is the person you're tracking has to be transmitting for that technology to work.

This is the sort of stuff we need to be worried about. Hitting a civilian airliner over Amsterdam instantly puts hundreds of civilian lives at risk.
The Soviet Union almost started a nuclear war by shooting down a Korean Airlines civilian airliner in 1983, killing everyone on board.

What can I tell you @Fascist lite ?
Today AMS airport had to shut down one of it’s runways for 45 minutes due to someone denouncing having spotted a drone over the airfield.

Police and the authorities could not find any trace of a drone or evidence that there has been one actually.

The news got on the first “pages” of many of the news agencies in Europe.
On the fine print at the bottom of the page, on some of the articles you could read:
“this is nothing new, it’s the 22nd event in 2025”.

These incidents have always occurred around Europe even before the Russian war.
Not saying that they cannot be occurring more frequently now.
And for sure I cannot prove that there’s not Russia behind this.
Could be Russia, could be Ukraine, could be the average idiot that just likes to spread panic, or groups of them.
Could be terrorists.
We don’t have a statistics given the fact that this crap never got to the media and is usually never worth of attention.

Just to give you an example, which cannot be verified cause I really can’t provide a source, at one of the airports (a minor one in Mediterranean Europe) that my company was using to ship freight, we had at least 5 events in 2018, which lead to an investigation that was inconclusive.

But after the drone incursion in Poland, which was real…most of this story about about Russia flying unidentified drones with localization lights over random airports in Denmark (which really doesn’t make any fuckin sense logically, politically, militarily speaking), is real bullshit over which the twitter and the media are just making profit.

That’s it.

As some people with real balls and brains said on this forum.
Start worrying once Russia moves huge quantities of military assets, or nuclear related stuff.
Until then…this is just porn for the average OSINT specialist.
Same thing here, we forget that news reporting is first and foremost a “product”. It has to be dressed up and made sexy to sell it.

It’s inescapable and I don’t fault them.
I would have a profit driven media model than a gov funded and directed model

I know this is the wrong thread for this, but this is a nothing burger worth posting here. This is from a US Army unit out of Fort Hood on a scheduled rotation. News like this is sexy and appealing, especially considering the events of the last few weeks but lacks the context that makes it irrelevant. Posting this devoid of its context makes it seem they are moving these tanks specifically due to recent events, rather than deployment scheduled months, if not a year in advance.

Context added. Was finding a source.

Food for thought: I wonder how tensions this time around compare to last autumn when Russia revised its nuclear doctrine or two years ago when they declared the four eastern regions of Ukraine part of Russia. Are we closer to war now than we were then? It seems like since this war has started, just after summer between September-October tensions flair before settling down again for the winter. Just my observation.

It’s too early to say, but the past two days, not a lot has happened. The drone sightings have dropped (some have been proven not drones, a case of mass hysteria), there hasn’t been a significant fixed wing incursion, and we haven’t seen any serious movements of military assets on a large scale to indicate a war is truly imminent. Granted, the situation is very fluid, two weeks ago I never thought drones into Poland was possible, but I think we are reaching an inflection point where tensions either simmer or we enter a new, dangerous status quo.

Who knows? Maybe I post this and something actually occurs, other than world leaders repeating scripted dialogue like NPCs, NATO holding more meetings to plan their next meeting, and Russian TV anchors declare London must be free and destroyed with nuclear missles.
